New Okami trailer

woah, the new combat weapons and stuff looks shit hot!

Okami is HOTTER THAN THE SUN.

When is the US release again? considering this trailer has english subtitles, it cant be too far off!

Man, not only beautiful but really wonderful music to boot. I didn't remember the music being so nice. I hope there's an artbook and soundtrack that comes with this at release. I'd definately be willing to pay for those extras.

Last I heard (and don't stone me if it's changed since then) is Spring 2006. I imagine we'll be hearing something about it soon considering Capcom is announcing stuff like crazy today

*love*

Seems like most websites I visited have 31 May as release date. But the official Capcom site still says "Q3 2006" :(

This game's art makes me want to cry. Love everything about it. PS2 and Capcom FTW!

I played it a little...didn't dig it so much...

Felt like Celda with a little bit of Devil May Cry and a tiny bit of a DS gimmick which just didn't work that well with the Dual Shock.

Hang on, let me apply the Matlock translator...

Mmm hmmm... Sounds like it'll be voted as a GOTY runner-up minimum, thanks Matock!

The game plays VERY well. I'm sure it would be better on a DS if the DS could do PS2 level of graphics and be played on a giant screen with awesome surround sound....but yeah it can't so playing it on the PS2 is the next best thing.

When you go into the brush mode the ENTIRE GAME PAUSES. So it's not something where you can make a mistake and it will kill you or have you cursing. Screw up? Just let go of the button and hold it again. Plus there's a lot of leeway in drawing stuff so it's really hard to mess up unless you kinda suck at life. It's especially easy when fighting enemies since it's just straight lines or circles. No complex crazy stuff.

Man, now THAT is fucking ART! That is bar none one of the best looking games I have ever seen. It looks to play very well too.

I'm a little concerned about the battle system, which looks somewhat ... buttonmashy, but other than that it looks very promising.

I love the look of this game, the art, the graphics...

Somehow I can imagine that it would feel nice playing it with the Revmote...

Why do people always make PSP or PS2 exclusive games about Nintendo controllers and handhelds? Buy a PSP and PS2.

Yeah that shit is annoying...

"Ohh i'm just imagining playing this on my system of choice that it's never coming out on..."

Hmm, let's see you can draw in this game.

But looks easy enough with the PS2 controller. Gorgeous looking game. If Capcom delivers with the gameplay, this will be perhaps their best generation for games yet?

Way to drawn conclusions... -_-
I never said "this game should be ported" or "why it isn't on X console?"... I wasn't even complaining... I was just making a commentary, so stop the drama...
If it makes you fell better: "Somehow I can imagine that it would feel nice playing it with the Xbox 360 controller..."
There you have... now is not about the "Nintendo controllers and handhelds"...

capcom's delivering some great games recently!

graphically okami looks wonderful. looking forward to it, looks great.

Seriously don't see how you can look at this game and not think of the Revolution.

I am really looking forward to this game, and the demo was a lot of fun. But seriously if the series continues and doesn't show up for Revolution I am going to be seriously dissapointed.

I mean seriously as the other poster said You draw in the game. I mean...it should be a no-brainer.

I've played the demo for hours and hours. It controls VERY nicely. The longer you hold in one direction the faster the wolf goes and the more flora spring up behind him, and after a few seconds he gets FAST. You know a game's doing something right when it's exhilarating to just move from point A to B. Combat has that solid/satisfying feel, intuitive with those satisfying micro-pauses that Wind Waker had.

The game world is fricken beautiful. I found myself stopping and just taking in the twinkle of the impressionistic stars and the stunning ambient music.

edit-

It's also a lot of fun to pause and try out different brush effects on the world... a straight brush cuts quite a few things in the environment (multiple trees at once, stones, pots and pans in houses etc). A circle around a character makes them happy (children come and hug you etc). You can create stars in the sky, even draw the sun and turn the whole world to light (a spectacular Truman Show style effect).

This is going to be a sensational game trust me.

It's been a long wait for this, it can't come out soon enough. The art style is amazingly beautiful to say the least and the combat seems to be well defined.....however I had hoped that the combat would be a bit more naturalistic than what it has turned out to be. No matter though, that's their design choice; I hope it works out well and can't wait to finally play it.

Cel-shading at its finest, this could give Zelda a run for its money as far as GOTY is concerned. This game is going to make me buy a PS2. Again. :lol

The next issue of OPM or PSM or whichever one has demo discs will have a demo of this next month. I can't wait for this to finally land. I've mad respect for Clover for the first Viewtiful Joe and seeing how awesome this looks makes me wonder what they'll come up with next.

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Next-Gen.

:D

Anyone know anything about european release date (or european release at all?)? I am so looking forward to this game! I think it will be the best ever.

Does it work as well as freeloader? This is great news!

:lol

Forgot to comment, the game look astonishing...it also looks fun with the combat, it can't suck surely. :D
works like a charm. it's slightly more complicated than freeloader because you have to open the drive manually with this slide tool thing. but i played through SotC (NTSC) on my PAL PS2 and it's worked out great for me.

The game presentation would be outright ruined by the insignifiant 3D processing abilities of the DS. I wouldnt sacrifice the awesome art for a silly 'oh wee i slash with the stylus' action that would be adequatly emulated by the dualshock.

This game looks incredible, but I kinda wish it had taken a more adventure turn.
