New Perfect Dark Zero gameplay footage (1up)

Can't see this now. Is this the 6 minutes of Che?

Yes. And it starts with the cutscene that looks (I guess) and sounds a lot better. The video is too dark to see any details. Where am direct feed?

Vid is too dark to make out much but it looks solid IMO. The music gives the whole scene a sense of urgency which gives me good vibes.

the video is a bit dark, but PDZ looks great I think. Great textures and lighting, just Joanna looks weird in cutscenes. I'll get this one I guess ...

Looking mighty fine, but where the heck is the direct feed Rare?

Indeed, I've been asking myself the same question since yesterday.

So far, nearly every single piece of PDZ media has been from dark, blurry camera footage.

Great. X05 is over now. And Microsoft has yet to release a single piece of decent looking media for this supposed flagship title. What they have officially released (i.e. the cutscene trailer and the video screencaps from two days ago) makes the game look like a POS.

I'm sure there's a strategy here. I mean, they can't possibly be that completely oblivious/incompetent.

Honestly...aside from history, I dont think this game has anything going for it. Graphics are mediocre, as is the AI, voice acting is poor, music is obnoxious. It seems like a cheesy FPS I would expect from EA had they not acquired the Bond license. It just looks lame, and nothing like Perfect Dark.

Looks really cool. MS could've taken some pics directly from these videos and they would've made better screenshots than some of the official media they've been releasing. :/

Looked ok, looked like fun. The "looking" looked a bit stiff, very robotic in it's movements, but apart from that.

You got to play it?

I think it looks pretty good, looks like fun to play, the reload animations look sweet, the cover system seems like it might be cool. The voicework, however. ("You're going home in a bodybag!" :lol :lol)

I haven't seen anything yet to dissuede me from buying it. It may not be the best looking game, but the gameplay vids make the game look fun.

hype. it has a shitload of hype going for it. and its rares biggest game since leaving nintendo.. that also means a lot in the eyes of many people.

The vid quality is pretty bad but there are still quite a few flaws that you can notice. The sensitivity was all over the place and the enemy AI is pathetic. She blew up a set of barrels behind a group of enemies and they didn't even notice. No reaction whatsoever. Though parts of the game are looking better, some of the lighting looked off, and seemed extremely static. Especially around the 3:50 mark. Some of the reload animations are definitely better and the death animations are vastly improved. The cutscenes are absolutely weak. Joanna looks so stupid in the cutscenes. Her voice actor is alright though although I must say that the VA in the last 30 seconds of the vid was absolutely horrendous. "You're wrecking my ride!" :lol

The game looks pretty fun, but if the AI is weak and the sensitivity is all over the place, then even that could be lost.

Crap, another one down the toilet. I dunno what I can say that is positive about the game... it's like.. I don't even think the hardcore Perfect Dark fans will buy this. Rare screwed up this one. :/

Looks fun and that's the most important part but the graphics, and especially the voice acting aren't too hot.

This is really getting annoying with all the incredibly dark low quality movies being released. Why can't Microsoft even release 1 single working direct feed video of this game?

The official trailer that MS released to the media yesterday was completely messed up and out of sync. I feel like I'm going blind trying to watch these PDZ videos.

This video made me drop abit of hype after watching the IGN videos.
Damn, that has to be the most ANNOYING music in a game yet. Thank god for custom soundtracks but maybe it was that which brought along this crap in the first place?

Gameplay mechanics look really good besides that the AI = lame. I can see it being incredibly fun in multiplayer though.

It also helped matters that many of our enemies in the demo weren't terribly quick to react to (or even realize that they were) being shot at. Although this was a little disappointing, we should point out that the game was being played on one of the easier settings.

Why did we choose to play the game on an easy setting? We didn't actually, but the game was defaulting to that difficulty level so that we could check out its hint feature, which kicked in automatically whenever we failed to make any progress for a period of time.

Alot of people here overrate the original PD which was a let down next to Goldeneye and failed to capture any major interest. The bad voices and characters isnt really that shocking :P

I remember the cover system from RE4. Works brilliantly

We'll see. :D

I am well aware that the game was set to easy on default, we've seen the same blue arrows in several vids. Just because it's on easy doesn't mean that the enemies should have no reaction at all when a barrel explodes right behind them. They don't necessarily have to start shooting at Joanna, or even find her because she was off to the side but they can still react to the explosion.

How original.
AI and presentation are probably the most important thing in an FPS for me(a lot of people would agree with that I think). The AI looks brain dead, and the presentation is definetly not doing it for me.

As for the game being on easy...why would they dumb down the AI? Reduce enemy accuracy, the amount of damage they take, etc. There is absolutely no need to dumb down the AI to the point where they dont even react to explosions any more.

Oh please, the grunts and covenent soldiers in Halo were just as bad on easy. throw a grenade and the stand there shouting "nooooooooo!"

You're wrong. They do jump away when you toss a gernade. Even on easy. Still, if they don't jump away sometimes, they still react in some way to the fucking gernade. You understand what I am saying, eh? The enemies in this PDZ vid didn't even react to the damn explosion alright. I'm not expecting something dynamic. I'm expecting them to acknowledge the giant fireball a few meters behind their heads. Oh well, it's like talking to a wall.

You cant complain about the AI if its on easy imo, if they react the same on Agent and Super Agent then you have a point.

And no, i dont remeber elites jumping out the way when i tossed a grenade.

Get on Halo2 tonight, fat git

I remember the elites jumping away, and the grunts yelling and screaming. This was all on easy. All I am expecting out of the PDZ enemies is to notice the explosion. Maybe cover themselves or something, in the same fashion that Leon does when you throw a gernade in RE 4. Like I said, nothing dynamic. Just a sense of awareness as far as the environment goes.

Man, how can you call me a fat git when you've never seen me eh? I thought you and I were friends man, but now you start slinging insults. It hurts. :lol

I'll try to make it on Halo 2 later tonight, what time you expecting to be on?

I think it looks nice, but not "OMG next-gen!". All those buildings in the background impressed me though. But what about that motion blur effect? Please tell me it's not an effect in the actual game. :|
Also, the animation seem a bit stiff...and I still don't see anything special with this game...I've read through previews...and it still seems just like another FPS. Unless I missed something major? Not that I would hate another FPS, but it's not something I would get terribly excited over either (unless it's Halo 3 or similar).
