Horrendous IQ and textures. I am not a graphics snob by any means and I don't expect the switch to do miracles with visuals but this is unacceptable for a franchise that makes so much money. easy decision to skip this.

Some lame designs (particularly those legendaries turning into bikes with legs) but the game itself looks fun. Visually it also looks way better than Arceus IMO.

So was that voice acting just for the trailer or is this $60 game in a multi million selling games franchise which is part of a multi billion media franchise finally getting voice acting in 2022?
just for the video sadly no cash on hand for vo cheep shits.

Looks terrible, but will sell millions.

Then again, they could sell anything with a title change and it would sell millions.
If that were the case, non-mobile spin-offs would've performed way better than the actually did. You knew that though, you just wanted to recycle the same tired and asinine talking points.

The jump to 3D has not been kind. They should make it HD sprite based like Triangle Strategy and Octopath Traveller.

I think that could work brilliantly for them.
They could still retain their 2d designs more akin to old games, while expand on story and complexity.

Whatever you say Arcanine. Maybe you can evolve someday.

I think there will be some kind of gameplay element where you have to find items/gems to upgrade the legendary with new abilities like flying and rolling/driving. I guess you would also need to get all upgrades before you can actually use the legendary in battle.

That’s just fan art. The game looks bad. But this one looks even worse. I’m amazed at the low quality, some textures makes it look like N64 game, and there was even a segment with frame drops. How?

Dont destroy my love for Nessa like that man..

The biggest problem with the game is the lack of texture care. The art style if fine, but i cant get around on how lazy Game Freak is with the texture and aliasing

Nintendo first party games in general seem awfully afraid of anti-aliasing. This could at least do with some ambient occlusion.

I'm a happy Switch owner, but those graphics are causing me actual physical pain. FF12 remaster has better textures, and it's based on a game that's 15 years old.

I don't mind the graphics too much. They aren't 'PS2' level or whatever, that's rose-tinted glasses shit.

But those motorbikes or whatever they are, are just fucking dumb. Bicycles? Great. Rollerblades/rollerskates? Sure, why not? Magically fast shoes? Eh, sure, whatever. Riding Pokémon? Fuck yeah!

Magic Pokémon motorbike thing? Too fucking far.

Only really makes sense for Miraidon with its cybernetic focus, but the other is just terrible.

Another Pokémon game and bother cycle of people complaining about graphics.

We been through this when Arceus was coming out but once the game came out people played and enjoy the games. It’s clear that fans don’t give a shot about graphics as much GAF does.

But once again we having same old repetitive arguments, if you care about graphics then what are you even care about the series?

Complaining has always worked in the game industry and it's the only way to cause change. Most notably stopping Microsoft from releasing a system that refused to play used games.

At some point we hope people will smarten up and stand up against the billionaire CEO's who seek to cut corners so they can expand their bank account. There should be no arguments against Pokemon having better graphics unless you're recieving a paycheck from Game freak

I feel like most of the people complaining were never going to be interested in this game and just want to shit on Pokemon because they can, same with all the Sword/Shield and Arceus outrage when those ended up being two of the best Pokemon games since the first 3 gens. Just because you've grown out of Pokemon doesn't mean it's not incredibly (and deservedly) successful

This series has never been known for good graphics with maybe the exception of New Pokemon Snap --which is an on rails game with heavily scripted sequences. The bitching about graphics has been going on long enough (even prior to the dex controversy) where it's at the point that it's abundantly clear an overwhelming majority of the fanbase doesn't give a fuck.

I get what you're saying, but it really serves no purpose whatsoever for certain franchises; this happens to be one of those. People are not playing these games to be wowed by graphics or reach some arbitrary 'standard' of other JRPGs with often different objectives from mainline Pokemon.

Yeah, this looks significantlly better than Sword and Shield, open world and out-of-order progression is a huge step forward.

This indeed looks better than Sword/Shield, but lets be honest, is not hard to surpass Shield/Sword. I beat the game and the visuals are atrocious, even in the art direction departament.

So if complain to Sony they will start making first party Japanese games? chances are they will not.

Is Sony not making 1st party Japanese games because their CEO is trying to rip off consumers and get a bigger paycheck? How is it comparable? It's more understandable that Sony doesn't view it as profitable rather than ripping off consumers.

I'm struggling to understand why you would make such a comparable when I brought up a system that didn't play used games

Understand that many companies today release low budget games for console prices $60 on the Switch. From Falcom to NISA. The difference and why people don't complain about Disgaea or Trails is the intent behind the games development. Pokemon games are designed and developed to be as profitable as they can be for their CEO and shareholders by cutting as many corners as consumers will accept.

Also, I recall Sword/Shield being Gamefreaks highest selling games but them still acknowledging the fanbase complaining about the Dex, animations and tree textures. Would you you not say they've improved on all 3?
