New(?) Possession screens.

From the developer of such all time classics as Bad Boys II, Barbie Horse Adventures: Wild Horse Rescue, Action Man and The Mummy Returns.

I have nothing more to say.

That pretty much wraps it up for this game...

Dude, making games is hard, and it's not even out till 2k7.

Guys. This is:

A - a proof of concept that took 6 months to make

B - NOT confirmed for any machine. It isn't signed yet

C - I played it at E3. It's got potential.

It was JUST a proof of concept and mechanics, meaning no actual level design. I enjoyed it somewhat, but it lacked the tension a 'designed' level brings. They didn't even shy away from admitting it. For 6 months in development, there were hardly any bugs, it was smooth, tight and it worked. I say wait till it's signed and they get a budget and target platform to spec to.

Then:

A - Don't release screenshots

While its true that they have no publisher yet, they've certainly made it clear that they are targetting PC/X360/PS3 and now Revolution apparently.

I thought the gameplay footage from E3 looked kind of fun, but a bit too easy.

Dead Rising versus Possession

GO!

This is always a cool screen, too bad that guy in the yellow is used like 50% of the time.

...I have more faith in Dead Rising in being a better game though.

I mean, observe the following scenario's of how each game is meant to be played as confirmed.

Possession: Probably some GTA wannabe posession shit where you recruit your "gang" by posessing the zombies, I fuckin' don't know.

Dead Rising: Running from 1,000 zombies, you throw an innocent girl in the group of zombies to watch her get ravaged apart while you take photos to get money, and then you proceed to grab the lawn mower and mow done the fuckers.

Dead Rising wins. :lol

I'd like to see more screens and impressions from Dead Rising because EGM pretty much called it a terrible excuse for a game with ugly graphics and sterile enviroments.

Yeah, EGM also laid the "smackdown" on Onimusha 4. And it was by the same editor who wrote the impressions for Oni 4 and Dead Rising.

THE CAPCOM HATE MACHINE :lol

Look, I don't know. Every other preview I've read for Dead Rising was pretty much all over the title. Loving the concept, and liking the potential.

I presume this EGM editor was your type who's obsessed with the Unreal Engine 30 frames per second metallic looking First Person Shooter bullshit that we keep seeing.

But I could be wrong :lol

Well I love the concept as well and considering how much I love zombie flicks I'll definitely give it a chance. I believe it also comes from the creator of Megaman and Onimusha so I'm confident it will be a quality title.

Dead Rising wins. Not just about visuals so far but for gameplay promises (thought we don't know much about the other game)

About this truck... "chie" in french means "to take a shit". Funny.

LOL...the Truck is called Shit Club

I do like the look of Dead Rising. Different kind of game though.

Possession controls like those bits where you control Clank in Ratchett and Clank, except:

- your squad can go up to the hundreds
- you have more variety of squad member
- you have more ways to control your squad
- you can leave your body and control the other guys directly, eitehr from possessing them as a ghost, or some other way that I forgot

As for the E3 vids, it looks easy because the level is a proof of tech/concept level, i.e., gameplay design is minimal.

There's some other shit, but it's late and my brain is tired.

Dead Rising looks like a zombie game much more suited for my tastes.
Possessions army pant wearing, dreadlock sporting, angst ridden zombie makes me laugh.
I love Zombie games and movies, Stubbs looks awesome.

Dead Rising looks to nail the zombie feel, transcending from big screen to my bedroom telly nicely.

The other trash looks heinous and makes me question nintendo's integrity if they allow it to look like that and appear on their new console...

I guess it ain't done yet but we'll see. But no one's ever convinced me you can polish a turd into diamond bling whether you have 10days or 8months.

Possession's release date is TBA 07, so I'd say it has time to improve.
