What's with the JDF hate in here ? The dude is great; he loves his fans. And it's genuine. He often goes to conventions to hang out with fans and take pictures and chat with them. Some years ago he even fired his agent who wanted to start charging people for spending time with him.

The dude is cool.

Because all Saban has been able to do since he got PR's rights back was ride on MMPR nostalgia. They've been using a remixed version of the original main theme for the new series for the last 4 years and I'm sure he didn't mind having to skip a Go-Busters adaption to head straight into a new Dinosaur series at all.

That being said, depending on when this movie comes out we might have Dino Charge rangers cameo to act as a tie-in for their season.
 
Don't think I'd like JDF in the film in a recognizable way, but he should have some role. Maybe doing motion capture for CG Alpha 5 or Putty Patrollers. I wonder who they'd get for Rita?

Really? That's sad if true. I saw a mini documentary of him on Machinima recently and it made him look like a cool dude. Although that could probably be mostly great editing.
 
Anyone who's not familiar with Power Rangers past 1993, if you're getting excited for this...don't. Save yourself the pain you'll feel later.

His recent Facebook posts have shown him getting way too excited about a Bandai toy contest and then going off the deep end in various short videos. We're not sure how many of them are motivated by him thinking people will prefer ASJ over him. His ego's reaching a questionable level.
 
Linkara's Power Rangers retrospectives made me appreciate the stories that the shows tried to do with their limited budget and time. Hopefully Saban comes up with a good story for this too.

It's known that the two don't like each other. I won't presume to know what happened or who's in the wrong, but Paul Schrier said at multiple times that Austin St. John had a really big ego and was a super arrogant dude with everyone on set.

And I don't know what you mean by "rigging online polls".

All I know is that JDF seems to love and respect his fans, and he gets a lot of points from me for that.
 
PR had giant aliens, giant Robot mechs, karate battles, City Battles, Rocking theme music, 2 Bumbling comic reliefs.

That would be the best case scenario, as far as potential quality goes. However there's no way that's what we're getting. For one, Sentai movies are barely an hour long. They'd have to pad the shit outta it to make it suitable for theater release. And more importantly, they're absolutely going for the Avengers audience here. The kind of audience that would take one look at a team of samba-dancing Rangers and walk right out of the theater. This is gonna be a straight-up original MMPR reboot, mark my words.

I just don't see Saban putting the kind of cash into it that it would take.
 
I am excited! Who knows how the story will turn out, but this means we get a toyline for the movie also. As a collector/reviewer, that makes me happy. Plus, Power Rangers will get plenty of press now and that can only help the show, hopefully.
 
I was actually thinking recently that a Power Rangers reboot could have some serious potential to be awesome and make a LOT of money.

Yeah, this.

Sure, JDF may love his fans. But you know what else he loves? Being relevant. He only started clinging to his MMPR past super heavily once it became evident that his MMA career was going nowhere fast. He's simply trying to hang on to the last bit of relevance he has.
 
Sounds really interesting, I recently got into power rangers/super sentai again I just love how much dumb-fun it is, really interested to see how it is.

Hopefully it's as silly as the original power rangers film, fingers crossed it's not like Turbo: a power rangers movie though, that movie had way too much talking for my liking(When it comes to power rangers, the more nonsensical explosions, the better)
 
I always wonder how is a PR movie gonna fit in a trilogy like most movies nowadays.

Maybe the first movie would be the origin, the second movie would be the green ranger intro and the third movie the white ranger.

Each new episode still gets 1 to 2 million viewers, it is more popular than it has been on a decade.
