New Quake Wars screens

Too late, GRAW looks better on the x360 than on the PC.

However, the Quake Wars screens look really nice! ;D

I still have to understand how the f*ck this game is related to Quake 4. It is looking incredible.

Just an excuse to bring out an Enemy Territory update. :)

I can't wait for this shit. And I'm sorry, but it does edge out GRAW. Not that I won't own both.

This will be on X360, yes? I seem to remember someone from iD saying this. Anybody know?

Splash damage won't even consider it until the PC version is done. So no, there is no confirmation.

Looks really good! any idea if the PC requirements are similar to Quake 4?

This game is supposed to run on the same spec machine as Doom 3, according to the devs. This is possible because Megatexture enables all of the texture info to be compressed to about 8mb, including texture related physics properties.

If they are to be believed I can't imagine this NOT running flawlwssly at highest settings on a 6800 setup.

Only if you dont like a nice deep draw distance.......

Nice trolling effort!

Check out the official trailer some time for evidence of the draw distance and expansive levels many previews have already pointed out.

Well, first of all, it does seem to look better in some aspects, though I'm unsure about the lighting. That part looks really great in GRAW and doesn't really stand out in particular when looking at Quake Wars. Also, I wonder if Quake Wars brings the same level of physics, explosions, particles and animation. But other than that, Quake Wars looks better.

Oh well, who would go about comparing Quake Wars to GRAW anyway? Two completely different games.

I can't wait till the technology evolves to the point where mapping isnt needed for the finer details. You can see from the concept picture of how it goes from art, to high poly model, to low poly model, to mapped. My only problem with the way its done now is that it doesn't allow for a high level of interactivity due to things not actually being modeled. We'll get there one day.

This game is definately one to keep an eye on.

Check out the official trailer some

Saw it, and yeah its good compared to last gen, but, it just isnt in the same league as GRAW. And I hate the GR gameplay and would never buy one of those games. I would buy QW long before I bought GRAW, reguardless of how it looked.

But you cant compare the 2 without giving the nod to GRAWs drawdistance.

What's up with the ground textures??

Nothing, they look awesome!

Creating maps for this game should be fun. You slap textures on the geometry to give the geometry its physics properties.

I may actually take the time to create real maps with this game.

I'm confused. Are you comparing draw distance, or the geometric detail of Mexico City compared to the more sparse arid maps of Quake Wars?

quake wars is multiplayer only , if you insist on making ludicrous comparisons between these 2 games then at least compare the graphics from the multiplayer engine of graw and not the single player engine.

Good point... and QW get's a big ol' FTW for having an ATV. (second slide)

:D

First - it's Deg not Degs.

Second - if you don't like hearing other opinions be my guest and log in to TeamXbox.

Hey now! Don't diss TXB. There's at least a handful of good, honest, hardworking people there. Just stay away from that godforsaken GXD and it's not so bad.

Quake wars seems to have GRAW trumped in terms of character details, but imo that is the only place it looks better.

Both games look fan-fucking tastic, though. I think graw will be a little more attractive in motion though. Seems to be a bit more alive from what I've seen.

Quake Wars and GRAW will also play very differently, so whaaaatever. They both look pretty to me.

I'm far more pumped about playing Quake Wars though. WolfET for lyfe.

Is 1up loading incredibly slow for anyone else? Took 5 minutes for the main page to load and gave up on seeing the pics 2 minutes in the loading the next page.

At E3 last year this one really jumped out at me for having such a stable framerate + pretty impressive graphics as well.

I guess it was heightened a bit by Activision showing Quake IV footage that chugged a bit first then the ultra smooth QW stuff :lol Though this is definately on the old buy list now whenever it hits.
