New Radiohead song ("These Are My Twisted Words")

Ugly Face recently talked about how they're not gonna be doing full-length albums for a long time. That sucks. I could've sworn they said they were releasing something a year after In Rainbows :(.

No offense, Thom, but I would have enjoyed it more had it been only an instrumental. Regardless, I still enjoyed the song.

You HAVE to like The Bends or OK Computer right? Isn't that like a qualification for being human?

I didn't like OK computer at first but it grew on me big time.....i've liked the Bends from the beginning though. Both incredible albums.

Ive listened through Amnesia and In Rainbows, but neither clicked

Go check out The Bends then....probably the best album for an "intro" to Radiohead IMO.

Whatever this track is, I doubt it will ever end up on an album. Good or bad, its just damn nice to hear them again. They disappear for what feels like eternity between albums.

I've only recently gotten over a distaste for Radiohead, mainly on the strenght of In Rainbows. That said, pre-OK Computer stuff is still pretty hit-or-miss for me.

Seems like a mix between In Rainbows and Hail to the Thief. I liked it! Can't understand the lyrics though, only the first verse (and it's pretty obvious :lol).

It's weird, just in May the BBC reported they were in the studio working on the follow-up. Maybe they misinterpreted their interview with Colin Greenwood somehow or maybe they've decided since then that an album wasn't right.

I don't think you can start with the later albums. I dunno for me (and it might just be because its how i got into them), start with the bends, and work your way through the albums. Its a great progression, but in some ways i think Radiohead is an aquired taste. The first album i got of there's (OK computer) I played and didn't immediately love it. But the more time i spent on it, and the other albums the more i loved it. Now they're one of my all time favorite bands

I totally agree. I listened to "Creep", "Fake Plastic Trees" and "2 + 2 = 5" for like a year without listening to any other Radiohead songs, than I heard "Let Down" a few times and the song "clicked" for me and with it most part of "Ok Computer". When I heard they were coming to my city I started listening to all of their albums and now I like most songs (but not all since there are some very "weird" ones).

I love it. Having seen them in small clubs since the beginning of their career, it has been a pleasure watching the progression of their sound and the acceptance it's garnered.

Guess I’m a freak. Having never heard a song of theirs (other than Creep) I was walking around a CD shop in 97 and they were playing OK Computer in the store. Not only did I some how instinctively know it was Radiohead, I knew it was the hottest shit I’d ever heard. That remains true 12 years later.
That new track is cool, very dark.

You're gonna need to try the other records (except maybe Hail to the Thief and definitely not Pablo Honey)

That's what I felt too oddly. Doesn't quite have the outro of I Might Be Wrong though.
Doesn't have the "PROBABLY MY FAVORITE SONG EVER" vibe to it either.

Yup pretty much exactly what i posted earlier. The Bends was sorta the gateway album for me (and a lot of my friends as well.) I listened to Ok Computer first because everybody always talks about it and felt pretty meh towards it. Luckily i gave Bends a shot and instantly loved it. After playing Bends for a while i went back to OK Computer and was floored.....i couldn't even believe it was the same album i listened to before.

To be fair, Radiohead has been threatening this for almost the entire decade.

I know loads of people who despise Radiohead
though of course, these people are all coincidentally Muse fans who feel some sort of stupid inclination to fuel the "rivalry".

Start with The Bends, then OK Computer, and just keep working your way up, man. Best way to do it.

I too feel a bit of an Amnesiac vibe from it which is nice since I didn't care too much for In Rainbows. I'll have to listen to it again when I'm not so tired, but it sounds pretty good. Hopefully a new album isn't too far away.

I'm a Radiohead fan... AND a Muse fan!

Shock!

To be fair, Radiohead is not for everyone, and I can see some people just not "getting" it at all. Different strokes for different folks.

You could say that for just about any music, but yes, I agree.

I'm a fan of both too! Muse hasn't evolved nearly as much as Radiohead, but the thing is I feel like radiohead changes for the worse a lot of the time. They also seem incredibly self indulgent.
