Now we know why Mario never says much: he's crap at grammar and rants like a petulant teenager.

Can't argue with that. I've always said our gays are far and away the finest in the business.

I think part of Rare's problem (in addition to the fact that it rarely releases games) is that that it's on XBox but its fanbase still owns cubes. Maybe next generation there'll be a balancing out.

not really, they didn't really release anything this gen.

The only wothwhile game is probably voodoo vince, I really don't know why MS didn't market it like it's THE platformer for xBox.

I think rare's 'defection' caught many people by surprise. A child that nagged his parents for a cube to play rare and nintendo games probably has little hope of getting an xbox as well. A game like grabbed by ghoulies would probably have done better on Gamecube.

1) PD Zero - Xbox or Xbox 2? Surely what with Far Cry making people's eyes melt, Xbox2 would be more suitable so that the eyecandy can blow people away [as opposed to suffering on what, IIRC, the Xbox runs - IE a clocked up and molested GeForce3].

"1) We thought weÂ’d skip straight to Xbox 4. After all, thereÂ’s no sense in rushing things.

:lol

as a matter of fact, casual gamers doesn't even know those company names.

if you ask around people probably won't even know Zelda , Mario, Donkey Kong are Nintendo only characters.

So I doubt kids would be buy GC because they know Rare games are going to come out on a Nintendo console.

But I do know Rare fans, and there are Rare fansites and the people there generally don't like the Xbox. So it has hurt them in ways.

I dunno, back in the NES days when I was very young and didn't have a computer much more access to the internet or magazines I took note of who made games I liked (Nintendo, Capcom, Konami) and those that didn't (eg, Jin or Yin?..i think). I had a ton of Konami games (Gradius, Life Force, Castlevania, Contra and Super Contra, Metal Gear) and I knew they were Konami games. After all, the logos were always on the boxes and in the games. I even knew that Konami games had a special title screen code because all my friends knew.

Later, I discovered that people with a Genesis didn't seem to have Mario but a substitute named sonic. Of course I didn't want a Genesis because I had loved Marios 123 on the NES and wanted to play more. I'd hardly have considered myself hardcore but I didn't have to own stock to know colgate made my toothpaste.

I don't think it's a stretch that people who always bought Nintendo consoles and the Rare games they found on them would expect that to continue. I mean, 'casuals' may not follow the industry obsessively but that doesn't mean they have no idea of what they want.

Yeah, yeah, we know. Do you think we enjoy delaying things, and do it just so that we can sit around rubbing our hands with glee in the face of an avalanche of angry mail? These things happen. Sometimes it is largely perfectionism on our part, but usually (including this particular occasion) there are other important reasons beyond that. Here's someone from the team to comment:
"Hmmm. I can understand your frustrations - I’ve been waiting ages for a decent question from someone who could possibly just think through all the possibilities of why Kameo has or has not been delayed instead of coming up with the same old story, but if you can’t ask a good question then maybe I should stop caring enough to give you a decent answer. Sigh."

There are indeed lots of reasons for a game to be delayed. It might be to avoid other big releases. It might make your yearly profits look better if a game's released in a certain month. A change of publisher. A change of developer. Perfectionism. Filling a gap in release dates.

I can't see any of those applying to Kameo though. I can think of two things it could be: a move of the game to the next gen system, or the development staff moved to another project to get it finished in time. Either way it pretty much confirms a Kameo move to the Xbox 2.

Is this proper British grammar or an ironic response?

Are you talking about the lack of a capital after the colon? If so, yeah, that's correct in Britain.

bitwise, he isn't describing "Rare hate". He's describing "xbox hate". Unfortunately this xbox hate outweighs their (the fanboys desscribed above) love for Rare :lol.

if their hate for xbox outweighed their love for Rare they wouldn't still be posting on rare fansites, what would be the point

i havent noticed though, the only rare fansite ive really been to is rarextreme.com and they seem to like xbox well enough

Interesting that Rare's handheld team isn't doing the mobile/Gizmondo ports of their GBA stuff... wonder what they'll work on when DKC3 GBA wraps up?
