Yeah this was so good. some of the best stuff they have ever done. Always loved That’s My Bush and this feels like a continuation of that.
a good bit of it is just parodying the idea of fake news, and the weirdness of deep fakes. the framing is kind of, he is doing a report on deep fakes, so he is just asking all these deep faked people about deep fakes. it is making fun of the media obsession with disinformation. they are making fun of all of it, and the dumbness of the elite, not just Trump, but the Big Tech media as well. the Zuckerberg commercials are so damn funny. ROFL. some of the best stuff they have ever done. they really use the deepfake technology creatively, this is as much about experimenting with form as it is punching up.
it is amazing. Trump is an investigative journalist, like one that would be in a South Park episode, except they used a Deep Fake. they aren't trying to sound like him, but they sound like a stupid South Park journalist dude would, so it's extra funny that it is coming out of Trump's mouth. some people do really sound like the actual people, and it is weird, but some are very cartoonish voices. it is silly af. it is surreal enough to not be offensive to a Trump voter, but still hit him with satirical criticisms. i love all the guest appearance. he interviews Al Gore and he makes ManBearPig references.
