I saw some screenshots of the latest episode, and I'm just not interested. Pretty sad when the pre-season teaser looked great

I only watched the first episode and realized it wasn't for me now. I've missed a lot of the specials with them being on odd channels I probably don't have. The old stuff is hilarious though and the film is a classic.

I know there'll be the divide of who is angry at south park based on what topic they are lambasting each week.

I find it all hilarious, fucking rip everyone, do the trump in the desert bit.

But am I the only feeling like they kind of phoning it in this season, like they just got a billion dollar deal, they are missing airdates frequently and the humor is really on the nose this season... like family guy on the nose.

Im wondering if Matt and Trey are taking a back seat and letting the rest of the team try take the lead.... I imagine they are getting close to wanting to retire the whole thing. This season feels like those first steps.

I wouldnt be surprised if we get eventual news that Matt will get a new VA for his characters in the next couple of years

I think it would be better if they didn't have Trump in it every week in the same way it was too much Randy when they had Tegrity Farms. These characters can been great in small doses but every week is too much. Most of the episodes this season have been pretty good, I actually think they're better on second viewing.

I feel that way whenever I rewatch the memberberries season...

But yeah they definitely going too hard on one thing, south park is at its best when it tackles random things

maybe y'all just lost on the rebellious humour that once felt funny against the "establishment left", but now that conservatives have gained cultural and political power it's less funny when its your hypocrisy being exposed. but who can say

a man whose never watched all 27 seasons of south park nor the movies nor the TV movies posted this comment.

ive been watching since season 1, i'm old brother u__u

plenty of topics being covered; media censorship, podcast culture, ai/tech bros, betting apps/labubus, immigration, trump presidency, post-wokeism, epstein, and plenty of others and it's only been like 4 episodes? unclutch ur pearls

Agreed, this season is better (minus the Japanese toilet ep) than last season easily. If we get 10 episodes I am happy.

Yes they are aggressive on hitting the far right. (In my opinion rightfully so) I would have also loved if they mocked Biden/Harris more/or at all but they only had what 4 Episodes the last few years.

Im just enjoying and appreciating the ride man. At some point they will stop and it will hurt when they do.

I mean, most normal people didn't assume it's a left/right thing and more that a serialized format for the show isn't as entertaining since they've tried it before. As someone who claims to have seen the show since season 1 you will remember the saga of memberberries and tegridyfarms, the covid saga which was definitely better than the prior two also wasn't as funny as say Ginger cow (if you know the episode) which lambasts the MiddleEast in the most hilarious way.

South Park has had a go at both parties since literally it first aired so how you came to the conclusion that fans are a little bored by the season is because of politics is a bit baffling, a Resetera conclusion i would say.

the fact is that conservatives currently hold all the power, politically and culturally, so you can't make fun of both sides when one side has 0 power and is on deaths door. As SP says quite literally... "WOK IS DEAD!".

like I said satire is all about power dynamics which is why Trump was never covered when everyone was making fun of him. Now that it looks like the US is sliding into authoritarianism with Trump appointing unqualified sycophants into every position of power that he can on top of using federal agencies to go after political opponents, South Park is having a field day, and rightfully so... This is South Park as usual, but yeah, probably not a great time to be watching as a conservative but the goal of satire is to hold up a mirror to the ugliest parts of society, ie greed, corruption, racism, etc, challenge authority, and stand up for the powerless (per mark twain anyway)

Your projecting an awful lot

I don't find this season to be quite as sharp as prior ones. There's some good stuff, but they drive every single joke into the ground.

It has nothing to do with left vs. right. There's plenty of insane stuff to parody on the right, but "lol Trump has a tiny penis" feels like the absolute laziest way to do it (the desert scene was amazing, though). I'm on the left and I can laugh at myself regardless, so I'm onboard with the show making fun of the right (again).

I went back and rewatched some of my old favorite episodes, like The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs. It's still held up after over a decade. Even a lot of their old political episodes have still held up by virtue of not being too on the nose. The new season feels so incredibly literal that I'm not sure it'll still be funny next year, let alone in ten.

Ok, so projection is when someone tries to explain to you how things work and because you are not knowledgeable or confident in your own beliefs to contribute or conversate you just accuse them of being insecure. I hope this helped

Is it just me or is the Trump stuff boring?
It's the same as Saddam with a different skin.
I find myself fast forwarding a lot this season 🤔

Yeah it was funny for like one episode but they just keep doing the same joke over and over again and it's feeling lazy.. especially after how well they mocked him on the AI special

My man, you came in the thread and just told everyone they hate it because they arent left wing.

You did that.

No one else has said that.

You are projecting your own insecurities upon others, now you dont have to like it that I noticed it and pointed it out. But clearly the way youve been posting in many certain threads, you have a bit of a chip on your shoulder now about left vs right.

Besides like one or two posters, majority of people find it boring because they are playing a joke into the ground.

Go outside, grow up, interact with others and get over your political left vs right tribalistic mentality.

The Trump jokes felt more on the noes when it was with Mr Garrison.

The A.I episode was great but I didn't realise it was going to go on and on this season.

Trump / Saddam is getting old but they might just push it until a saddam reveal payoff at the end of the season for the 3 in the back that did not get it, and for mainstream media to pull the idea out in the open.

Managing to ridicule a president that much and show him as a petty dictator (the same that was USA "mortal enemy" for 15 years) is a nice feat worth some heavy handed humor.

I liked the betting angle of the last one, and the end was vintage South Park with Ms Broflowsky tearing netaniahu apart, like the concerned mother she justifiably is.

6 7 ? I had to look that up (dumb tiktok stuff). The kids that made it up don't even know what it means, just say it for the laughs. I'm to old for this .

The Trump bits are getting really old. And I do not think they will move on from it. They seem to have lost all creativity.

I do not remember them making fun of Obama or Biden. Funny how Trump is always the exception. The last several "seasons" have not been funny. Sucks to see another show losing it's edge and yet they continue to milk it. Just cancel them already.

Yes, I am crying. I am calling them out. We had 4 years of endless comedy potential, but they go after the orange man like everybody else. More like I am tired of the same old same old. They have jumped on a bandwagon. That is not edgy.

Had some laughs. But it does come across like they were paid to bitch about Trump. Being paid to bitch about Trump does seem like a pretty tough and saturated market though...

I'm not even interested in the show anymore. Sad to see what it has become.

What a wild ride of posts in a thread for a show you do not care for?

Those vibes

Nah, I get what he's saying. Reskinning Saddam as Trump was lazy and not funny. And continuing the joke for multiple episodes is tiresome. When they made fun of Trump as Garrison, which they only substituted because they thought Hillary would win, ended up working well enough. The episode they had lebubus or however they're spelled made me think they were finally dropping it, but they jumped right back in halfway into the episode.

I do pay for Paramount, and I did "watch" it in the background while playing some games. And all they are doing is making fun of Trump on every episode. It is pretty sad. It was kind of funny for the first episode, but it stopped being funny a while ago. I guess I keep watching hoping it is funny again. I guess I should just move on like I did for Simpsons.

Also, thanks for being my biggest fan/stalker.

Turkey Trot was the best episode in a while mainly because it had no Trump stuff, it was focused on the other staff and then this gem:

The show is still great when they focus on the actual kids who the show is about. But it is getting hard to watch the other parts. I'm all for making fun of anyone in charge. That doesn't mean they should share writers with The View though.

The Trump stuff has been pretty boring unfortunately, the only highlight this episode was Macke telling Trump all of his average American problems and Trump just blowing him off, lol, I found that hilarious.

Trump is essentially just another character now.

them making the ending to their big storyline just an anticlimactic Epstein joke was funny however
