new Seiken Densetsu 4 WJump scan

I like how they got the soft pastel look in 3d with the cutscenes.

But I fear for the battles. Square Enix action engines this gen have been more on the slow and ok side than fast and awesome. Code Age/Kingdom Hearts/Musashi.....yeah ^^;

KH2 engine?

Or Code Age, or Radiata. Looks a bit like both.

Wow, looks better than I expected.

This does not use an existing engine.
For starters, I don't believe they share code between studios (this is a common problem in Japan), and second they already said it has full 3D environments rather than pseudo 3D usually found in RPGs, and uses Havoc physics engine.

Awesome, another PS2 RPG to look forward to.

- Seiken Densetsu 4.
- Rogue Galaxy.
- Kingdom Hearts 2.
- FFXII.
- Valkyrie Profile 2.

And I still haven't bought Dragon Quest VIII. All these RPGs pretty much destroyed any chance of installing FFXI, I think I'll trade that one back. I just don't want to invest all the time for it. It looks beautiful though and I really want to play it. :(

Maybe if it's ported to PS3 2 years from now or so.

Don't forget Grandia 3. The PS2 has really turned into a powerhouse for RPGs as the original PlayStation was. Square-Enix has significantly stepped up it's game lately, too.

Turned into? The PS2 was always a RPG powerhouse from the start. Hell, in Japan it had two RPG -LAUNCH GAMES-. What other console in the past 6 years were any match for the PS2 in terms of RPG content?

... ... You don't suppose... Zelda or perhaps Threads of Fate?? That'd be pretty cool, and it would make sense that they're incorprating havoc physics.

I also want a STORY for this game... Seiken Densetsu 3 style ! The story of that game is just so compelling and mesmerizing...

OMG That looks amazing!!!

I just can't see myself buying a next gen console next year with all these upcoming PS2 games.

None of you focused on the most important part of that scan

Malformed characters of indeterminate gender FTW!
Do you have eyes? It's pretty clear which is which if you compare one to the other.

I really like the character design in this and SD DS. Cute, pleasing, organic, and seems to translate very well into each game's respective medium. Looks like this series is on its feet again.
