Strange has them imprisoned and is going to send them back to their universes. Dafoe convinces Holland to release them because if they get sent back they'll be killed (by their Spider-Men) so Holland releases them and takes the key and Strange is like "Fine kid, you deal with it" and goes away until the end of the movie.

Loooool. That's so childish and irresponsible from Strange.

It's Dr Strange's fault to begin with. Yeah, Peter fucks up, and from the sound of that rumor fucks up again (is this the dumbest version of Peter Parker?), but Strange can't just wash his hands of it and be like "nah".
