New Star Citizen trailer

Did they say if this game will work with the Oculus Rift?

yes and i think this will be the biggest seller for rift at launch because both should come around q3-4 2014.

here is the newest news i can find about Star Citizen and OR support

Read all the hype EVE VR gets with the first low res dev kit, a tech demo made in free time in some weeks. Now imagine how the hype around Star Citizen + Oculus Rift Consumer Version will be. It will help both companies :)

People criticizing lens flare in this and comparing it to how the game looked 8 months ago ... *smh* I guess it's to be expected though, if you're not following SC's development the way some of us space-sim nuts do. :)

Do you have a link where it says if you buy before 6/27 you get lifetime insurance? From what I have seen you have to have backed it before November 26th or something.

No, if you get a ship now you get LTI.

To avoid the confusion that came with the previous livestream and promotions, there will be a one-week grace period for all pledges. You will have until Saturday, July 6th to pick up packages with the old prices and features, including LTI through the new site, as well as limited ships and other things offered during the 300i and Livestream promotions.

I briefly looked at the pricing and backing information a while ago but didn't quite take the time to make sense of it because it seemed that the incentives to back were kind of lost at that point. I still don't know what the insurance aspect entails and what their business model will be.

anyone know when the Apha start is planned?

The hangar module, where you'll be able to walk around and admire the ships you bought, will be released later in the summer. The dogfighting alpha is currently scheduled for December 2013.

Read the FAQ. There's a whole section dedicated to insurance. In fact, pretty much everything you need to know is in there.

Shit looks amazing. So glad I backed this. I can't imagine how this game would feel with Oculus.

I can.

For some reason until now I thought I'd already pledged - I mean, I have a golden ticket on the site, whatever that is. But I apparently forgot to actually give them money.

Well, dropped $65, was going to go in on one of the cheaper tiers but then I realized that I've been asking for a game like this for as long as I can remember.
