New Starfield mod tricks the game to remove loading screens

Work in progress, right now only works with a small number of locations in Starfield’s Neon City.


‘Seamless City Interiors’ by ‘PanConKeso’ plays a little trick on Starfield’s code base: it tells the game that interior locations are in fact exterior locations, and because of that, the loading screens between one and the other are eliminated. Put more simply, it gets rid of the loading screens between outdoors and indoors.

So, why were there loading screens in the first place if it's possible to do?

Same mod is on Skyrim.

While cool, it can be game breaking.

Hopefully in a few months the bugs get worked out and it's more stable.

There was a mod on Skyrim did the same thing to Whiterun and removed the loading screens. And it worked fine. But you'd increase the risk of the game freezing. They section off these areas because of the limitations of the engine and trying to stay within them. At least that's always been my understanding.

People should really read the details before asking why the base game doesn’t do this.

It’s a total hack that will likely cause issues.

edit: good grief it gets old how people have such a hard on to hate on games endlessly… it’s been out a year, can the people who hated the game just ignore threads on it? Lol

This is all basically known by anyone who has ever used the console commands to instantly warp anywhere.

It's also known it can easily break the game. There is some data that is modified during those transitions (which are really fast anyways) that completely skipping can break the game.
