I think Wind Waker was fucking fantastic. The whole searching for triforce pieces argument everyone falls back on is lame btw. It took me a half hour. One of the best games this gen IMO.

As for Starfox-

I have high hopes for it, but I can't say I'm really hyped right now. Hopefully Namco knocks me on my ass and surprises me though.

I'm another who prefers WW to OoT. I liked OoT and it definately has better length and difficulty, but I can't go back to it after playing Wind Waker. I would have loved a game with length, difficulty and invention not unlike that found in Ocarina, only with Wind Waker's graphics, polish, camera/combat system, scope of the overworld etc. That's what I thought we'd get for a sequel. Instead we're getting androgynous anime style Link romping around in Middle Earth. Of course, the game will probably be more of a Zelda game than I'm suggesting, and it will probably be good, but I am still disappointed by it.

I hope Nintendo are splitting it into two product lines - cel-shaded and not. With Minish Cap possibly being the last 2d Zelda, I can feel my love affair with this series ending fast.


edit: :lol oops almost forgot... and Starfox is looking better and better. This looks to be everything that SFAdventures wasn't. ie. a good shooter. I'm looking foreward to it!

WW was too short and frustrating with the sailing. We're talking minutes of nothing. I literally went upstairs and made snacks. I loved the game in the end, but it's got nothing on OoT in my opinion.

Starfox, I have my reservations on. I loved SF64, but I'm not a huge Ace Combat fan. So we'll see.

Wow, some serious drug abuse going on earlier in this thread. Mario Kart Double Dash completely trounced that steaming turd that was Mario Kart 64. However, still not as good as the ultimate, the original, Super Mario Kart.

I think 2D Zelda will continue on DS. Nintendo's already working on Four Swords for it, hopefully Capcom/Flagship does a DS Zelda as well.
