Its because they have done this twice already. They have a system in place and since its basically just adding an extra $1,400 to the $600 already sent out last December, it's probably as easy as pushing a button.
I hope people go out and spend this money instead of putting it in their savings. It will give the economy the jolt it needs right before we are set to open the country.

I'm married with eight kids and so I received $14,000, posted yesterday. It's kind of ridiculous. Putting our country trillions of dollars in new debt, many billions of which are spent on political pork is just sickening. But it's the American way now. Spend like drunks and to Hell with the future, I guess. I totally support providing money to people who were compelled by law to leave their jobs due to Covid, the physically and mentally disabled, etc. But this all seems reckless to me. Sure I like "free" money and am grateful for what I've been given, but I also love my country and find this unhinged spending very troubling.

$1,400 is good, but it will cover maybe over a month of rent & essentials, not much more. It won't "lift people out of poverty" like the North Korea style media is pretending. They are saying he is "showering money on people" like some third world propoganda rag.
The bill is almost entirely pork. Dave Rubin did the math and if you included every single person in the US, man woman and child rich and poor, for the full cost of this bill you could send everyone a check for $5,000. That would at least tide people over for a few months. But they are giving people $1,400, and it is so means tested that 17 million fewer people are receiving help. Already the Dems are letting down people.
It's a fucking joke. They had a bill ready in August but Pelosi drew a line in the sand and decided no checks would get sent out while Trump was president. She would rather people get no help than get a check signed by him. This is why hundreds of millions of Americans went without help during a onec in a century crisis, because of Pelosi's TDS. Now they want to look like heroes while doing even less than Trump did. Without Pelosi's TDS we would have had these checks half a year ago. Fuck this.

It was always 1400 for a total of 2000. Your claim on giving money to rich friends is BS too. Trump/republican tax cuts helped rich friends. Trump even told billionaires he made them a lot of money. Rescue act immediately led to furloughs being stopped p, saved jobs, and gave money to the lowest brackets. Trump and the tax cuts soared the deficit with really nothing in return, again outside of all the cash for millionaire and billionaires. Also the rich tax cuts were made permanent, while the paltry amount us normies got auto expire. Thanks trump... So again soared the deficit and money for rich people is great to you and folks like Valor, but money for low and middle brackets bad. Saving jobs bad. so much good stuff in this bill for the typical American (child credit payments; vaccine distribution (oh yeah, Trump had no plan for this at all), etc.) to even try to come in with this weakness is sad.

The bill is largely a slush fund for Democratic politicians, mostly giving money to the states that fucked it up and killed tens of thousands of people. They are giving tons of money to education while the teachers unions refuse to go to work and permanently damage the upbringing millions of children. All this stuff is being counted as "for the people". Cuomo kills 13,000 by mismanaging and he still gets money. But please tell me how they are the good guys.
$1,400 will do nothing for ordinary Americans but encourage temporary spending, will Biden will use to tout how amazing he is. Meanwhile so much more money is being sucked by crooked state run slush funds.

Made too much, sold a business of mine last year and paid about $60 grand in taxes.

Thing is it was just the timing, I'm not filthy rich by any means but I am pretty well off ( paid off house and cars ) but I busted my ass getting there regularly working 80+ hours a week.
I got lucky someone was interested in buying right before covid hit and its not like I regularly pay thst much in taxes but selling the business really kind of screwed me over in that sense.
