I was considering buying the vertical stand for the new slim PS2 model, but I wonder - could it somehow damage game discs over time if you have the system in a vertical position? I seem to recall something about that with the original PS2 system model.

It looks pretty cool with the stand on, I hope there's no troubles. Anyone on the board taken the plunge and have the new system and stand?

I saw some at Best Buy. They are in small white boxes, which are very flat.

If that revolves, that's pretty slick. If only it didn't require power/av cords, it'd look badass as the centerpiece of a coffee table.

The stand is out now, but for $15 it's kinda steep. There's a 3rd party stand out for about $10, but that one is all plastic and doesn't look as good. The Sony one is smaller, but has a metal-weighted base with a plastic shell.

Kinda OT, but is logitech planning to redesign their Cordless Action Controller IR port for the PSTwo? I'm very surprised how well this controller works (it's really good!), but I'd want the IR port to be flush with the PSTwo.
