:lol :lol The names could not get any more cliche. But I'll let that complaint slip by since the game looks damn fine.

The 720p aspect ratio gives the 360 origins of those shots away as well. In fact I think those are from the demo they showed at the leipzig (sp?) convention.

I got really severe Airbourne Ranger flashbacks from this shot it's scary.

I think it's probably the "pit" he's standing in more than anything. (For those that remember AR.)

I wish Microprose was still around, at it's prime it was probably responsible for more of my wasted hours on gaming than the rest of the "classics" I harp on about put together.

At least it's got me interesting in this, Certainly looks good.

Why is there a windows application border around the shots?

The Leipzig demo had that, but he was running it off of a 360 beta kit, controller and all.

My guesses:

1. It's not being played, but rather is being displayed or streamed as a video, or worse, is being played but via a capture card on a PC monitor. ala Console VGA old-school ;)

2. The Outfit (PC) includes "Xbox 360 Controller Support" as an option.

3. None of the above.

I can guarantee 100% that at least one of my guesses is right :P

"The new "Outfit" screens are caps from a camcorder vid a fansite did a while back--was done on Xbox 360 beta kit, guy used the Xbox 360 controller, was hooked into a beta kit console which was visible"

I'm really hyped for this game. It has the look of a game that is made for plain and simple fun factor. I am digging the bright daytime lighting. everyone else does moody doom&gloom lighting in their ww2 games.

It looks ok. Nothing really impressive. I guess the big pet peeve I have with the game is that the buildings just look too bare and too square. Sort of devoid of significant geometry, which makes them really stand out.

Yeah, if we decide to ignore the windows XP bar on top of the screenshots

Because the 360 isn't running on a pared down version of XP media center, nor are the dev kits.

Why the X, A, B buttons in the select your character screen?
MS is standardizing joypad controls for Windows too: expect many games in the future having that buttons gfx if they detect a joypad plugged in.

Hovever, it could be 360 version: the graphics seems exactly the same. Great looking game, if it will play like mercenaries or freedom fighters, it's mine :D

Beat me to it.

You can blow up everything in this game? If you continue blowing up the ground, how big will the crater/hole be? is there a limit?

Hmmm-is anyone getting an Armed and Dangerous vibe with the screens? Hell I loved that game,if this game plays anything like that one then I'd be willing o pick it up.

And yeah-the game looks very Xboxish in nature more than it does X360. Sucks that so many games are being rushed for the launch/launch window.

that appeals to me. The boxy buildings, combined with the 'chunky' characters and the lighting on the tanks makes it look like small soldiers, or playing with plastic models.

Kind of like the ultimate kids game of soldiers being played out.

Nice job, Bish and team... like the art style, it doesn't look bland and too serious like every other military game out there.

Do you realise that pre-war Europe wasn't designed by Frank Gehry? BUILDING ARE SUPPOSED TO BE BOXES WITH ROOFS, THAT'S WHAT THEY LOOKED LIKE, FIND A REAL COMPLAINT!

Jesus christ i swear every day i hear a new 'most stupid bitch about a game ever' here.

It's really cool that this game seems like different things to different people. I thought everyone would automatically assimilate it with Mercenaries. I've read that it's more linear than mercs, but as long as I can blow shit up (and it's fully destructible) this game will be mine.

I really dont like the look of some next gen games, is next gen gunna be the era of plastic graphics?

Yes. Deal with it or get a new hobby, Normal mapping will give most objects a shiny sheen to them, I'm sure some devs with find ways around it, but the standard will be plastic looking people.

When they demo'd this for me at E3 it looked awesome, until the MS blue screen of death came up during the multiplayer(coop) demo. :lol

Seriously though. This game looked (and looks) hella fun and the destructible environments and physics are awesome. This game will be a fucking blast when
it is released.

So graphics whores-ease up on the HAHAHAXBOXLOLZERS!!!11!!!

You will buy this when it comes out. Trust me.

No, it's the specular lighting that gives the shiny sheen to them. Regardless, it's still better than old methods. I don't get why people bitch about it, like they expect to go from poorly lit and low detail models to perfectly realistic in one step.

If you like these shots btw, you're going to sprout wood when the next batch is released. Don't let the haters get you down, the X360 is a serious piece of kit.
