Very steampunky but I guess I shouldn't be surprised, given how time works in the series.
Fucking LOVE this character design. The two female designs are brilliant too. Really tasteful.
I've a soft spot for feudal/mythological Japanese settings, so the original Toukiden always interested me, just never got around to buying it. Will definitely be keeping an eye on this. I don't expect this one to be anywhere near as robust as Monster Hunter, but it being open world is enough for it to be it's own thing.

It's ok.....we have badass spells and dudes who can fly around like ninjas compared to bloodborne. Plus it doesn't look as creepy. Hell what in the first one you ripped the spiders leg off and shoved it in his face!!!

Looks pretty good, but I couldn't get into the first one. Combat felt too Dynasty Warriors-ish and the maps were pretty bland, but I'm glad that they're including an open-world this time around.

About the combat: I assume you didn't play much, because you won't get much far if you play Toukiden on a more button-mashy way like you would on DW. Playing the Special Missions on the Kiwami demo should give a better feel of the combat as they are on a intermediate difficulty level.
And rest easy, we'll probably get it localized only on 2017 ;^;

Graphically looks really impressive, very interesting in getting into this genre but never been able to plop down with handhelds for more than a few instances. Looking forward to seeing some gameplay and hopefully Verendus rumor pans out and we'll see MH back on Ps4 at some point. Would really like to try all these gems out at some point.
I'd count on it, actually.
One of the things that the Producer of the DW series has talked about over the last year and some change, as part of being able to reinvigorate DW was the possibility of taking it open world. Time will tell what exactly that means, but it's something that I'd expect at this point by the time DW9 is ready to be revealed sometime in the next few months.

The game only need to remove all the glaciabellas from the continium existence ( i hate this ennemy ) and it'll be perfect.

It was 30fps on PS4. I think that was because of cross-play with Vita owners.

Never cared much about Tokiden Kiwami but these screenshots looking soo good, the game being open world and also having Freedom Wars "hookshot" is making me really hyped for Tokiden 2.
Yup, Koie Tecmo's delivering. Anyone knows how far are they into Nioh? I know Toukiden 2's development is currently at 60% complete.

Game still looking good, it's the game I'm looking forward the must but still no gameplay video
.Continues to look great. I'm glad those new characters seem to be a more adult, i was a bit afraid that they would go for an younger cast than in the first game after first few characters they have shown, now it looks more balanced.

Heh, I clicked on the 4gamer.net story linked above, and unexpectedly a trailer ran. I sat back excited to finally see Toukiden 2 in action, and then felt crushing disappointment for what I saw as it did not match the screenshots ... turns out, it was a trailer for Dragon's Dogma Online (which looks fine enough, BTW, but not like this) playing in an interstitial. Scared myself for a second there.
I don't want to get let my expectations run away with me as I know it wont be anywhere near as smooth as some other recent online co op games but the thought of being able to explore an open world hunting game with friends sounds really exciting to me.
I guess it's odd but the older I get the more I find myself enjoying playing Co-op and multiplayer games and it seems like it goes the opposite direction for a lot of people. I'm really interested in seeing how they plan to incorporate the multiplayer aspects of this with the added open world nature of it and I think if the online had a similar setup to games like Destiny or The Division it could actually make this more popular then the previous game was.

Is there any chance of this game getting localized this year, or should I place it on my 2017 list and stop getting hyped, because this game looks SO good. I didn't even really like what I played of the T1 demo, but this looks much better.
I don't think the Japanese version even has a date yet so if I had to guess I would say spring 2017 at the earliest for the west.
