And of course the Xbox 1&2 titles should all use Xbox 2 as the reference platform. Last I heard Splinter Cell 4 was totally jaw dropping visually.

Edit: Better with the official list

Oh, for the people not interested in Xbox I can add the others, will edit this post in a few. Adding all the new games in database.

World War II Squadron and GR2 mission pack is xbox only, the rest is multiplatform, sometimes no GC version. :) (americas army, BIA new chapter)

Theres also a PS2 'Title to be confirmed' in the list. Far Cry add-on for PC Few Settlers add-ons for PC, heroes of might and magic 5 PC, silent hunter 4 PC, etc.

Some DS and PSP titles, kingkong, pop, splinter cell and thats it i guess!

Like I said, this comes from a Xbox site so Kobold must have removed mentions of PS2 and NGC. Wait until he edits his message.

It's more of an uh-oh beacuse it's expected to ship Q3 05, not the platform. I wonder if it'll be made even darker this time around?

Well, I can tell you that those next generation games dates are probably internal schedule dates for finishing the Xbox 2 product, the next gen console will launch a little later probably, thus the games also. (that's what I expect anyways) :)

But maybe the normal Xbox versions of those games will launch earlier? I don't know, don't expect it.

Anyone know what this one is?
'With Killing Day (working title), an FPS specifically designed for next-generation consoles, Ubisoft plans to demonstrate once again its technological lead and highlight the capabilities of the new consoles. ' :)

This time it will be "You fuckin' ugly bitch!" ?

Xbox 2 first, then PS3 when it's released. Of course it does not mean that PS3 will be released in 2005!

* Prince of Persia 3 (Mult i+ Xbox 2)

WOOHOO! That was exactly what I wanted to know. Hopefully with the level and character design of Sands of Time and the combat system of Warrior Within. And no Dahaka chases, please!

I would bet Killing Day is being developed by Southend (deathrow), in a swedish newsletter it was said they were devleoping a Xbox 2 game for UBI. They were also hiring people and in the background image was a guy pointing a gun.

edit: and ubi should tone down the splinter cell pimpage that's going on a little.

So how exactly do games for Xbox 2 and the current consoles work. Do they have to make a seperate build for Xbox 2?

No, they are going to use the GBA version and print the Xbox 2 logo on it ;-)

:D

Your guess as good as mine. But hey; seems likely? :)

So XB2 comes out before Oct. 1st?

Nah probably launch the next gen versions later, or postpone all versions for same time launch. :)

Nice!

I expect most of those dates to slip, though.
yeah, me too

Nay, not Southend...but for the record, Southend rocks!!!!!!! :)

And I was just in another thread defending this generation of games as being no worse and maybe even better than previous ones, and now I see this list. Thanks, Ubi!

Seriously though, they're really pushing Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six to their limits now. They could still be well-made games, but like the Tony Hawk series, the franchise will just run out of steam no matter how polished the game is or how popular the franchise was if you don't mix it up a little. Learn from other's mistakes, Ubisoft.

Ubisoft unveils its 2005-2006 product catalog and adds to its financial prospects

Paris, France - March 16, 2005 - Ubisoft, one of the world's leading video game publishers, is pleased to announce its product catalog for fiscal year 2005-2006 (ending March 31, 2006) and provide additional information on its financial prospects.

First semester: four major launches, including Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six LockdownTM

In light of strong sales for titles launched over the past few months as well as the high number of orders placed for blockbusters scheduled to hit the market by the close of fiscal year 2004-2005 (on March 31st), Ubisoft management has decided to release Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six LockdownTM in the first half of fiscal year 2005-2006, rather than in March 2005. This title, which is ready for launch, will thus boost the beginning of fiscal year 2005-2006 with estimated sales of 1.5 to 2 million units.

In addition to Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six LockdownTM, the first six months will see the release of three other major titles: Far Cry InstinctsTM on consoles, Star Wars®: Revenge of the SithTM for portable consoles and 187 Ride or DieTM, a new brand in the urban street-racing segment.

Third quarter: Peter Jackson's King Kong and Brothers in Arms Road to Hill 30TM will join Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® and Prince of Persia® for an explosive holiday season

While Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® and Prince of Persia® will attempt to break the sales records achieved during the 2004 holiday season, Peter Jackson's King Kong is clearly shaping up to be one of the season's major blockbusters. These titles will be supplemented by a new chapter of Brothers In Arms, which has, in March, established itself as the benchmark brand in the World War II shooting-game segment.

Fourth quarter: new adventures for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell® and three new brands

With Killing Day (working title), an FPS specifically designed for next-generation consoles, Ubisoft plans to demonstrate once again its technological lead and highlight the capabilities of the new consoles. The group will also mark its entry into the sports segment with a basketball game (And 1TM) and reinforce its presence in the strategy segment with two games under the Might & Magic brand.

32 products will be launched in total during fiscal year 2005-2006, including three for Nintendo DSTM, five for Sony's new PlayStation® Portable console (PSPTM) and four for the new next-generation console from Microsoft.

Revised prospects for fiscal years 2004-2005 and 2005-2006

Taking into account the postponement of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six LockdownTM, Ubisoft should register sales over €215 million for the fourth quarter of 2004-2005 while maintaining an annual operating income objective of €40-45 million according to French accounting standards and €38-43 million in pro-forma figures.

Indeed the high volume of sales for recent titles will generate additional gross margin that should fully compensate this delay. Net profit excluding extraordinary items (before amortization of goodwill) should amount to €18-22 million according to French accounting standards and €17-21 million in pro-forma figures. Available net cash flow before acquisition expenditures should equal €30 million, as opposed to the +€10 million initially projected.

For fiscal year 2005-2006, given the quality of its game portfolio, Ubisoft's previously stated objectives remain unchanged:

- 12% increase in sales at constant exchange rates.
- Operating income of more than €55 million according to French accounting standards.

As a result of these projections and the seasonal nature of sales, Ubisoft is expecting a net profit excluding extraordinary items (before amortization of goodwill and business assets) of over €28 million according to French accounting standards and available net cash flow before acquisition expenditures of more than €40 million.

"Ubisoft is ending 2004-2005 with outstanding results thanks to the successful launches of the Brothers in Arms brand, which has become the undisputed benchmark in its category in just one installment, and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell®, which has received rave reviews. For the first time in the video game industry, the Official Xbox® Magazine in the United States awarded a score of 9.9/10 to the blockbuster Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos TheoryTM. This rating, which recognizes a strategy based on quality and creativity, allows us to reaffirm our studios' standing among the best in the world," declared Yves Guillemot, president and CEO of Ubisoft. "Fiscal year 2005-2006 should turn out to be another record year right from the first quarter, with major product launches, an even richer game portfolio and an outlook of strong growth and increased profitability. Ubisoft is once again proving its ability to win market share and create value."

Notes:
*Net free cash flow is defined as the net cash flow arising from business operations decreased by investments related to the operating cycle (with the exclusion of financial investments and those relating to external growth).
According to US GAAP pro forma accounting standards, internal R&D expenses are posted as operating expenses.

That's weird. According to the PR, there's no "next generation consoles" edition of Prince of Persia 3, but the rest lines up with blimbim's list.

I'd really like to see PoP 360, assuming there's none of that silly crying fountain pish posh.

I guess i was too enthoused to notice that, I assumed it would also be launchtitle. Sorry! At least i brought it early :p

Yes, that's great. I was hoping for a new version of POP instead of WW, but it's better than nothing. I'm curious to see what Ubi is going to do with these two franchises on PSP.

And I'm also curious to see what they're going to do with the second screen on the DS. PoP:WW doesn't have a realtime map to display there. :D

With the touch screen, you control the Prince's level of generic rage.

Interesting. They released the fourth and fifth games in the series over the last two years. Now they're going back and redoing the third?

Huh? Could someone (perhaps you, jarrod) explain the two Lunar DS games to me? One of them is in the Lunar RPG series?

I'm guessing, given UbiSoft picked it up (they're the same game). There's was some controversy over if it was really a Lunar game but I think this solidifies it is.

Hopefully UBI stops dumbing down the Ghost Recon series, it's really been getting worse and worse.
I"d love to see a next gen Ghost Recon with 3-4 controllable squads, with the ability to switch to any member of any squad (again).
