New unannounced Capcom game to be shown at TGS 2013 (Itsuno involved)

It's Time.

Doesn't it also have some of the original staff from 2 on the project?

To be fair, doubleHelix is 10 times the developer Spark Unlimited ever was. And Ninja Theory's games, DmC not withstanding, were really good for what they were.

The lead on strider 2 is advising.

So.....not really...

^ "Supervising" or involved with.

I mean, I'm always down for a new take on the metroid formula. Game could turn out well. I'm just refuting that Capcom is suddenly going to develop everything in-house. I should have faith in them going forward...why?

That's... not very comforting when "10 times" above Spark Unlimited is Front Mission Evolved/Silent Hill Homecoming quality.

True enough.

You shouldn't. I would love Capcom to be like they were during the dreamcast days.

But those days are SUPER over.

Would love it to be Devil May Cry 5 !

Haven't played DmC or Dragon's Dogma but I would like to a sequel to any of these titles, just to see what they will bring to the table.

You guys always hate Capcom on every thread when they announce something for mobile. And now you are going to be excited again. I cant wait for the official thread of this announcement and everyone going back to their Capcom sucks posts.

Is that why strider is being developed by the KI guys?

lol.

They canned all unannounced outsourced titles... most likely games meant for retail.

With this said... i doubt that they will completely cease using developers overseas... more than likely they will continue to use them for Digital Download titles for platforms like XBLA, PSN, NN, iOS & Google Play due to their "low risk / high reward" nature while major franchises will return back to japanese studios.

Sure, well, show me. Words are cheap...like DmC was 2 weeks after it came out.

Deep Down is the first

TGS will reveal more... with that said... i go back to my bet of it being a new Devil May Cry

I'm not sure how Deep Down indicates a change. DmC was a product of Capcom shifting its own internal development to starting new franchises while they outsourced the existing titles. eg. Dead Rising 2 (which lead to the acquisition of Blue Castle), DmC, ORC and Lost Planet 3.

They announced the change in direction less than half a year ago. Whether they will follow through is up for debate but you're not going to see any results from such a dramatic shift and they're not going to hang out their dirty underwear for us to see.

In fact, I've got 20$ says that the next capcom crossover fighting game has New Dante in it, and that's if it contains Devil May Cry characters at all.
I will take that bet son. In fact, I will double it to $40.

Since DmC, OG Dante has been in two games (Project X Zone and Capcom All Stars). Doesn't matter who makes, a crossover is a crossover.

And DmC was a considerable flop.

Who cares if DmC was 9 months ago, if they reveal or tease it now, it could still be late 2014 or early 2015 until it ships.

We already talked about those. They're not made by Capcom, they are sequels to games where old Dante was essentially the Capcom male protagonist, and production on those games started back when DMC was still in mid dev stages. It's not a good place to rest your hat on. Plus it's 2 crossover games made by people who aren't capcom vs 1 crossover game made by people who aren't capcom.

I am hoping for Dragon's Dogma 2 for PS4/Xbone.

This is my bet. Hopefully they can include everything they wanted to include in the first one, but couldn't due to time/lack of experience

It's one of these:

New IP
Devil May Cry
Mobile/portable game

- Itsuno went and worked with NT to finish off DmC after Dragon's Dogma
- I think in that short timeframe, creating a new IP might be difficult especially after all the work put into DD
- Dark Arisen had a different director, given that DA was actually decent, I would assume he might continue to work on the franchise
- For dmc5 they might already have some of the assets and conceptual work done after/during dmc4
- Capcom already have Deep Down (also with online coop)
- DD2 would require a bigger budget considering it's an open world game, especially on panty raid

Devil May Cry (DmC2 or dmc5) or a mobile game is more likely

Believe

Why would capcom make another Devil May Cry game 8 months after their previous one when the previous one was a financial success?

Also, lol, if you think Itsuno is going to head up DMC, you're drunk. If they do announce DMC2, it'll be another in the new series made by Ninja Theory. Did you guys think that game flopped or something?

Because it didn't.

Are you drunk?

You can Google this shit man there's no excuse.

It's been well documented by now that DmC was nowhere near what Capcom wanted it to be and couldn't even outsell the old games. DMC was a flagship series right up there with RE and SF and this reboot pissed all of that away.

It's Dragon’s Dogma
Quest x Puzzle & Dragons

14:00 – Dragon’s Dogma Quest x Puzzle & Dragons Collaboration Special Stage – Special talk between Capcom director Itsuno Hideaki and GungHo producer Daisuke Yamamoto about a Dragon’s Dogma Quest and Puzzle & Dragons collaboration.

::rubs temples:: Well that make sense but...geeze.

Actually, if Capcom decides to become a publisher for GungHo, that's pretty massive and pretty much shoots them to the top of the mobile platforms.

Let's see... bring back a dead, niche franchise, make a sequel to DMC which is probably dead now too, or make another Dragon's Dogma...

I am not expecting Dogma2 with DD coming out also. Depending on the release window them going head to head wouldn't they hurt one another?

Deep Down is coming out next year. They could easily show a teaser trailer for Dragon's Dogma 2 and the game could come out in 2015.

Naw, they seem to be different games. Deep Down seems like Capcom's answer to Dark Souls with it's slower, plodding, animation heavy combat system while Dragon's Dogma is their answer to Skyrim, with a more spry combat system focused around climbing and exploration.

I doubt we'll see Dragon's Dogma 2 for a loooooooooooooong time though, even if they announce it tomorrow.

They are very different games in actuality yes but they seem extremely similar aesthetically at passing glance. I mean when Deep Down was first announced everyone thought it was a placeholder title for Dragon's Dogma 2.

I don't expect Dragon's Dogma 2 so soon either because of Deep Down. Unless Capcom really didn't have the foresight to see that promoting two next gen Fantasy setting Action RPGs with the same abrieviation (DD) would be potentially confusing to consumers. Even moreso if Dragon's Dogma adds co-op like people have asked.

True, but something tells me that what we've seen of Deep Down at this point is just a single level and that there's a lot more they aren't telling us (at least I hope so). There's room for both, especially since Dragon's Dogma needs to be a game with a massive scope to stay competitive, and that'll take a lot of time consider Capcom has only had next gen dev kits for a few months.

But who knows. I certainly don't want Dragon's Dogma to go away, I just want it, and their other projects, to be better managed so we don't have to buy our games twice in order to get expansion packs.

And for reels, Deep Down can't be the final name, right? That's such a bad title for a franchise. Maybe Capcom should be the ones to buy the Kingdom of Amalur licence.
