Do you have to uninstall the previous one? I don't want to reinstall this a bunch of times before the final 1.0 is out.

I upgraded yesterday. One new thing I like is the find command. In the old Firefox you can type a word and it finds it in the page but to find more occurrences of that word you need to use the 'find in this page' command.

Now a bar automatically shows up at the bottom when you type giving you an idea on what you're typing and options such as highlighting (Try typing a letter and then highlight :p) and finding next/previous. It also has an icon to show if the phrase is found or not.

When you start it for the first time it asks you if you want to import passwords, cookies, bookmarks, basically everything from the previous Firefox. It only takes one click. :)

Is there a way to back up Bookmarks? The extension link on the extensions page doesn't work. -_-

What I did: bookmarks > manage bookmarks > file > export ===> saved it to my desktop.

The only think I don't like about this version is that most of the Extensions (and themes) I had don't work yet with 1.0...

Aside from that... 1.0 > 0.9 ...

Damn, I just got 0.9.3 a couple of weeks ago and I have everything running pretty smooth. I'm going to export my bookmars and make sure all extensions work with 1.0 before I upgrade.

There will be future releases, but the browser is feature frozen AFAIK. That means there will be security patches, bug fixes, etc. but no additional functionality in future release aside from extensions coming from 3rd parties.

Firefox is a jerk and somehow deleted all my bookmarks a few weeks back. :( No idea what caused it... and none of the recovery methods I read about worked. >_<

... ... I can't stay mad at you, Firefox!! <3

In the old firefox you could type the word and then press F3 to find more occurrences. :) Maybe it still works in the new one (haven't installed yet).

Am I the only one having problems with the new Firefox?

Every time I click on a media link it crashes. I'm talking about game pics in Gamestop or the IGN videos. It doesn't happen all the time but still... =\

also, when I exit Firefox I guess cookies get deleted or something because when I go to my subscribed threads they're all marked unread even though I just read them. This also happened with the old Firefox btw.

But there's no find bar at the bottom! :p anyway yeah it still works-- I just tried it.

Ctrl-G is your friend on old versions. Firefox/Mozilla's documentation could use some work. All these cool features, hidden.

Backup your bookmarks, and then go to %AppData% and delete your profile so you can take advantage of firefox's live bookmarks. Really cool feature.

Also, 1.0PR handles installation of plugins much better.

The new find option owns. Expect MS to copy it for IE7 (that and well over half of firefox's features).

this usually happens when the profiles fuck up, if u go to where firefox stores all its info there will be a default user folder and mayb another one. The other one will contain all yur bookmarks
