Countdown to Xbox360

About Countdown to Xbox360
This is a Countdown timer to the release of Microsoft’s Xbox360. This is just a estimated Release date for the Xbox360 This Date is based on the Mountain Dew ’Every 10 Min’ Giveaway http://www.every10minutes.com

If this date is changed there will be a version 2 release of this Widget. Keep an eye out for my Nintendo Revolution and Sony PS3 Widget, This is my first Widget, I hope everyone likes it.

So, why would I use Dashboard over Konfabulator? Anyone? People say they serve different purposes, but I don't see it.

Dashboard is hard-coded into the operating system and offers tighter program integrations. Plus it does that cool appear/disappear effect.

Anyway, this widget seems like a good way to waste about 20MB of ram.

Well, if you have Mac OS X 10.4, I doubt you'd be asking that question, since at that point you have to be running Dashboard.

If you have Windows, Konfabulator's okay, but I've found that it absolutely rapes my system resources over time. Dashboard doesn't, but each instance of each widget takes up an inordinate amount of RAM (I think there's a separate WebObject renderer thrown into memory for each one--a complete waste of space).

So if you don't have more than 512 ram on your Mac, running Dashboard widgets is suicide. However, they're more usable and faster/slicker and tied to the OS. So if you've got the power, they're superior.
