I strongly disagree. The MTV event is clearly targeted to a wider audience than the vg-fans: it's being made on a generalistic music television to reach even the people who never heard of Xbox 360, the ones that still call Xbox the "Playstation Xbox" ;-)

So, on these people it surely will have the "splash effect", no doubt.
