This shot is new to me too, and gives a better sense of scale etc. Looks very small..the wire kind of spoils it. Something tells me you'll be getting wires with your controller in the X360 box :(

i do not think that is the case.
i think it will be wireless but the DEV guys use a controller with a wire as the wireless controller has not yet been produced!

its easier and ceaper to produce a controller with a cord than a wireless one, so i dont see why MS would develop a wireless for the DEV kit!

I'm wondering why everyone is in arms about the controller possibly not being wireless.

Has anyone considered the rammifications (sp) of a totally wireless controller at release? If the batteries went dead, oh well, no gaming until it recharges. I would assume it would be combination cordless/corded depending on the current battery charge. If it dies, you plug it in and keep gaming, just on a corded controller.

I think that asthetically it looks ugly. Not just the black sticks, but the whole thing looks cheap. Design-wise it looks very standard...like a cheap PC controller. I have faith that the final version will look much nicer.

I agree, it's understandable enough not putting a wireless controller into a dev kit.

I just thought I read that wired controllers would be packed in with the system itself? Obviously everything at this stage is rumour, but X360 rumours have been pretty bankable sofar ;) I hope that's not the case though, after wavebird I'm certainly a wireless convert :)

Well don't most rechargable things demand you charge em before use? That might kinda suck.

As said before, you'd probably be able to play using the controller while it's plugged in for recharging - so no, I doubt you'll be kept hanging while your controller charges up after ripping your 360 out of the box :)

Maybe it's just me not being a big fan of white, but has anyone thought that this could possibly be fake?

I didn't pay close attention to it until now, but if you look closely to the start and back buttons, the sort of look like they-re molded out of plastic. It doesn't look like they can pe pushed in.

Heres the other pic..

Does kinda make sense that the central button is the power button for the controller, but that means the wired version is gonna look very bare in the centre.

looks awesome. I like the design and the wireless function is a huge plus. I love the material as well... like an ipod.

It'd be nice if you could plug in power cords from console to gamepad...

if they require their own transformers, that's total suck.
