New Xenosaga III trailer

I couldn't make it far in the first Episode much less play the second so I am not familiar if there is any connection to Xenogears or what?

Cause:

This looks like a younger, albeit CGI-looking Fei.

There's no "formal" connection to XG, but anyone with half a brain can see that Xenosaga borrows a lot of shit from XG.

The trailer was kind of spoilericious...but it's shit everyone was expecting. So it's not that bad. Music was meh, though.

Yeah, I guessed the Red Testament's identity in the first game. Not a big surprise.

From what we've seen the third installment seems better than the second...I just have to prepare myself for the fact that nothing can satisfy the hopes I had for the series after the first game. :(

Also, I pray to the gods that they eliminate freakin pregnant pauses from the VO localization...drove me nuts in the second one.

when will it end?!?!

STFU.

Anyways, that was such a great trailer!

I still have a feeling it will go to 6, I just think this will be the end of Shion's trilogy and this will end with the Eldridge heading off with the dismantled Deus.

I mean we're already have had Zohar Modifier contact with the "Yahweh" Interplanetary Invasion System. Just was more showed and alluded to, then mentioned.

why? oh why must the games stink so much? I'm so interested in the story, but I'm just not willing to put up with the game to get to it. Alas!

It won't. The story writers left Monolith and took their story with them. Without a story, there's no purpose to making an RPG game.

You can google this up if you want.

Ep2+3 are not part of the original story, this series is no longer what it was intended to be.

Soraya Saga is gone, but Takahashi is still there.

Yes they were. Monolithsoft changed stuff from Takahashi's original script in Episode II, but he says that Xenosaga I&II is close to his original vision.

Wikipedia said:
n recent years, the Xenosaga project has seen the resignation of staff who were contributors to the game Xenogears and/or the first episode of Xenosaga. As of Episode II, Tetsuya Takahashi and Soraya Saga were removed from the Xenosaga team. According to a column by Saga, the original draft of Episode II, written by the aformentioned designers, was altered due to their removal from the project. However, this information was recently removed from Saga's website.[3] While Saga is not working on the series anymore, Takahashi continues to be involved, albeit in a non-production role. The music composer, Yasunori Mitsuda, has also left the Xenosaga series as of Episode II. After these events, Episode III was declared to be the last primary Xenosaga episode.

Tetsuya Takahashi, Kunihiko Tanaka (character designer), and Yasunori Mitsuda have been contributors to the series since its origins. While Tanaka (the only remaining member of the three) re-illustrated the characters for Episode II, he has since distanced himself from the project.

What a fuckin' mess.

The episodes could have been so much more. Xenogears is obviously loved for deserved reasons, and Saga Ep 1 was by no means a poor RPG, I enjoyed it. But, I couldn't stomach more than an hour playing Ep 2. And now we have Ep 3. As cool as the story seems to develop in Ep2 and Ep3, the fact that it's not even how it was originally intended sort of takes the fire out of it ya know?

Wikipedia is the LAST place to go for reliable info :lol Anyone and their mother can edit that sheeeit to anything they desire.

What does XSI&II have to do with all the changes they made to the PS2 versions of Ep.2 & 3?

Some snippits from the 2nd volume of the Takahashi interview include:

"Stuff unexplained in EPI-II will be left to EPIII

New character, Pierre Ruryk will connect Pied Piper and EPI-II"

A.K.A. Everything has been made to better connect to each other, so XS I-II and III connect pretty smoothly :)

Pfft. PR hype, nothing more. They did it with Ep.II as well.

Is "to die, to sleep - to sleep, maybe to dream" how some people (maybe non-English speaking countries) are taught Hamlet?

I was trying to figure out why they changed it from "perchance" - Google seems to give 700 results for "maybe", which seems to high for a random word change.

Yah, I thought it was Hamlet until they said maybe. Monolith does like Shakespeare, though. Remember the three witches in Baten Kaitos, and one of them being named Glamyss? I think Xenosaga I might have had a quote from Halmet... but I can't recall.

Finally got around to watching this, and it was fraking amazing as expected. Brilliant Kajiura score as usual.

Cool to see all the Kevin speculation was bang on. The implications this has on KOS-MOS' character are exactly as I expected. Pure brilliance.

The
Kevin
thing was kinda obvious 3/4th the way through the first episode.

...and definitely obvious at the end cutscene.
