First tragedy, then farce.
So Far..

Regal and Eugene (c) over Christian and Tomko. Eugene hurt his leg in this match (actual injury is seems). JR then said it was a dislocated knee, which makes me think it was fake... but it certainly seemed real.

Trish over Lita (c). Match lasted 10 seconds, Lita actually hurt herself BAD. Awesome, down to three rasslers in the womens division.

There no stoppin' him now. Benjamin (c) over Maven and then Benjamin (c) over Maven. HILARIOUS match.. in the firt one Maven left the ring to tell the people to shut up because he didnt speak Spanish (show is in Puerto Rico) and resulted in a near count ouf followed by a quick pin. Maven then argued he should get a rematch because that didnt count.. Shelton left the ring saying Maven didnt deserve it... so Maven said we have two womens champions.. because like Trish, Shelton had no balls.. which sends Shelton charging into the ring where he ducks a Maven clothesline and counters with a Blinger splash for the pin at 0:05. LOL.

Hassan over the King.. no commentary killed the match, but Hassan seems to have the goods in ring.. his finisher is a modified flatliner that looks SICK.

Kane over Snitsky in your normal run of the mill big vs. big match. Have a feeling this ones booking got screwed up because of the Lita injury.

if you'll excuse me Ive gotta go watch the beginning of the DAVE era.

Any screen caps of Lita's injury? What happened? She's really bad in the ring these days. Worse than before. Plus she's gotten fatter than when she started. PEACE.

Stooge, I'm pissed. I missed the PPV, for whatever reason our area here in NE Ohio it wouldnt come on.

Then I read the results and I wanted to see the Dave Era begin, but Vince doesn't care what the fans want. He only tries to force the SAME DAMN feud down our throats week after week.

God I'm steamed.

It's too early to put the belt on Batista, as much as I'm pumped about the guy - Wrestlemania isn't that far away and there's still the Orton/HHH proper blow-off to finish. Plus Batista's turn is too early in the process. Frankly, once Orton wins the RR, and you know that's going to happen, WM can go a couple of different ways:

- Orton takes the belt from HHH at WM, HHH sics Batista on Orton, Batista gets the gold and goes his own way
- HHH retains at WM through Batista-ference, DAVE demands a shot at the belt in return, insta-feud

Both scenarios keep HHH involved in the main event chase, as he always will be, and the Batista turn is done slowly and properly, instead of being rushed like Orton's. You people should be happy that DAVE's turn is being handled in this manner, it's almost old-school.

Anyways, full results from tonight, thx to insidepulse:
Eugene & William Regal (c) vs. Christian & Tyson Tomko - World Tag Team Titles
Eugene comes down wearing a yellow shirt and bandana that say ‘Eugenemania’ on it...ala Hogan. Regal and Christian start. Christian backs Regal to the turnbuckle, and shoulders him I the gut. Christian off the ropes, back body drop by Regal, Regal then brings Christian to the corner, and Eugene is tagged in. Eugene gives Christian a wedgie, then does some Hogan poses. Eugene then takes down Christian, and does some JYD taunting, and Christian gets to Tomko, who then muscles down Eugene. Christian back in, and Eugene ducks him, slides outside, and starts playing to the fans. Tomko and Christian try to corner Eugene, but he goes under the ring. Christian and Tomko try to meet him on the other side, but Eugene comes back out the same side, and rolls up Christian for 2. Tomko then jumps Eugene and they start double teaming. Tomko pounds down on Eugene, but he Hulks up, then back body drops Tomko, and gets Regal in. Regal is on fire, runs roughshot on both. He pulls Christian in the ring, but Tomko then jumps him, and tags in Christian. Christian with a rough sleeper on Regal, and it looks like Regal’s nose is bleeding. Tomko back in, and he is beating down Regal. Regal is fighting towards Eugene, but Christian goes around and pulls Eugene off the apron, as Regal escapes Tomko, but Eugene was on the floor. There is double teaming now on Regal. Regal finally gets to Eugene, who cleans house. Christian comes off the 2nd rope, but right into Eugene’s fist, then Eugene dropkicks Tomko, but he lands awkward on his knee, and it looks like it is twisted. Tomko and Christian send Regal to the outside, and Christian follows, however Eugene comes from behind Tomko and rolls him up for the pin.
Winners and Still Champs -Eugene & Regal

Christy walking around the beach in a little bikini.

Christian and Tomko run into Edge backstage. Edge tells Christian that he has a good idea, but Christian doesn’t trust him due to their last encounter, and he tells Tomko to kick his ass. Edge says that it revolves around Christian getting a shot at the World Title. Christian then tells Tomko to back off, and they follow Edge.

Recap of the Trish/Lita feud.

Lita (c) vs. Trish Stratus - Woman’s Title
They go back and forth, and Trish falls to the outside. Lita runs off the apron, and does a Lou Theiz on Trish, but she looks like she injured her knee. Back in the ring, Trish focuses on knee, then hits the Chick Kick. It looks like her injury is legit, as they ended the match extremely early.
Winner and New Champion - Trish Stratus

Jericho warming up backstage.

Maria walking around on the beach in the bikini.

Edge in Bischoff’s office, and he wants out of the Elimination Chamber, and wants Christian to take his place, because he thinks HBK will screw him, so why should he put all that effort into a losing battle. Bischoff says that he won’t change the match. Edge then storms out, and runs into HBK. HBK says that he will call it down the middle, but if someone puts their hands on him, he will be forced to retaliate.

JR says that Eugene has a dislocated kneecap.

Shelton Benjamin (c) vs. Maven - Intercontinental Title
The crowd is all over Maven. He gets on the mic, and says that he doesn’t know what they are saying. He then says that in order for him to concentrate, and win the IC title, he will need them to be quite. Haha. Crowd is still all over him. He says that he can’t deal with this tension, and he will face Maven in the United States. HAHA. Maven then walks up the aisle, and the ref starts counting, but he runs back in before the 10 count, and tries to swing at Shelton, who ducks it, and rolls up Maven for the pin!
Winner and Still Champ - Shelton Benjamin

Maven gets on the mic, and demands a rematch, saying that one didn’t count. Shelton thinks Maven doesn’t deserve it, and Maven says “I guess we now have 2 woman’s champs” Shelton runs back in, and they restart the match. Maven goes for a clothesline, and Shelton ducks again, then nails the T-Bone for the pin. HAHAHAHA.
Winner and Still Champ - Shelton Benjamin

Christy getting oiled up on the beach.

Benoit warming up.

Recap of King/Hassan.

New Guy Todd with Hassan & Daivari. They said that the footage they showed was bias, and it didn’t show JR and King disrespecting them. Hassan said that he thought he would be understood in Puerto Rico, because they are also considered second class citizens of the US. However, they was detained in the airport for 3 hours, their hotel reservation disappeared, and Daivari’s wallet was stolen from a restaurant.

Jerry “The King” Lawler (w/ JR) vs. Muhammad Hassan (w/ Daivari)
No announcer, as JR is at ringside with King. Hassan works on King most of the match, locking on Camel Clutch a few times. King fights back, and hits few stiff punches, and one KO’s Hassan. King then hits the 2nd rope fist drop, then a very stiff DDT for 2. Daivari then interferes, and JR helps King, but King then turns around into a Flatliner type move, which looks like it will be cool, when a old retarded fuck is not taking it. This match was brutal, because there was no commentary.
Winner - Hassan

New Guy Todd with Batista. Big Dave thinks he has the best chance to win. Orton comes in and asks Batista a question. He asks if Dave will go after the title or protect HHH. Batista tells Orton not to worry what he will do the HHH, and worry about what he will do to him when they face off. Dave then says that if he has a chance to become World Champ, he will take it.

WM Recall: HBK defeating Bret Hart in the IronMan Match.

Coach joins JR at the table.

Recap of Snitsky/KANE

KANE vs. Gene Snitsky
They start brawling to begin the match. KANE with a body slam, then drops a few legs. Snitsky fights back, and slams into KANE in the corner, then exposes the concrete floor by pulling the mats. KANE then joins Snitsky on the outside, and back body drops Snitsky on the floor. Snitsky in the ring, but the gets on KANE, and locks on a bear hug. KANE with a drum punch to Snitsky, but Snitsky nails a body slam. KANE sits up, but Snitsky boots him down. KANE sits up again, but Snitsky boots him down again. Snitsky puts KANE on the outside, and sends him to the steps. Snitsky charges with a chair, but KANE puts up his boot. Back in the ring, KANE slugs away on Snitsky in the corner, then hits a top rope clothesline. Both back up, and KANE goes for a choke slam, then Snitsky goes for a choke slam, KANE pulls Snitsky off the choke slam, but Snitsky bites down on KANE’s ear. KANE fights back, then grabs Snitsky and nails a Tombstone for the pin.
Winner - KANE

Back to poolside. Hurricane, Conway, Rosey, and Venis all have a diva on their back, and they chicken fight. Rosey and Christy win.

OK, it’s time once again for PK’s trivia. This one is going to be hard. Who is my favorite wrestler? First one to IM me at baDDassPK will win a free WWE Ruthless Aggression action figure from my own personal collection.

SyxxtyNyn has won, and correctly guessed Billy Gunn.

Recap of the World Title situation.

Triple H vs. Randy Orton vs. Edge vs. Chris Benoit vs. Batista vs. Chris Jericho - World Title - Elimination Chamber
Edge, HHH, Orton and Batista get locked up in the chambers, as Jericho and Benoit will start. They go back and forth. Benoit tries to lock on the sharpshooter, but Jericho turns it into the Walls, but Benoit reverses it back, then tries a Crossface. Jericho is on the top rope, but Benoit goes up, and nails a SUPERPLEX. The countdown begins, and HHH is the first out of the cage. HHH attacks both Jericho and Benoit, sending both out of the ring, on the steel floor. HHH goes after Benoit, and sends him face first into the chains. Back in the ring, HHH goes for a Pedigree, but Jericho breaks it up, but then HHH sets Jericho up for a Pedigree, but Jericho back body drops HHH on the steel. Jericho and Benoit go at it some more, and Edge is released. Edge sends everyone into corners, and spears them all. Jericho and HHH on the outside, and Edge goes out and slingshots HHH into the chains. Edge in the ring, and nails a top rope shoulderblock on Benoit for 2. HHH and Jericho fight on the outside, then make their way in the ring, and HHH gives Jericho a Pedigree. Jericho rolls out of the ring, and Orton is allowed in. Orton goes right after HHH, and takes the fight to the chains. Back in the ring, Jericho tries to get to Orton, but Orton nails an RKO. Benoit up, goes after Orton, but Benoit takes Orton down in the Crossface. HHH is taunting Orton, the Benoit lets go, and locks a Sharpshooter on HHH. Orton then RKO’s Benoit out of the Sharpshooter. Edge lines up to spear Orton, but Orton dodges it, and Edge goes into HBK. HBK then superkicks Edge, and Jericho scores the pinfall. Benoit then hits the Trifecta of Germans on HHH, then climbs to the top of one of the chambers and nails the headbutt!!! Jericho comes in and locks on the Walls, and Benoit locks on the Crossface at the same time!! The countdown begins, and Batista is released before HHH can tap out. Batista then runs all over the other 3. Batista then tosses Benoit into the camera man, and the camera man goes down. Jericho then bulldogs HHH on the steel. Batista with a spinebuster on Benoit, then he powerbombs Jericho on Benoit, and pins Benoit. Batista then gives Jericho a Demon Bomb, and pins Jericho. HHH and Batista then start to beatdown Orton. Orton fights back, goes for the RKO on HHH, but HHH shoves him off, right into Batista, who sets up for a Demon Bomb, but Orton fell to his knees, and crotches him, then hits the RKO for the pin on Batista! HHH comes over, sends Orton to the outside. Orton fights back, and sends HHH into the chains, and back in the ring, where he hits a RKO. When he goes for the pin, Batista, who is still in the chamber, is being held back by HBK. The door is open, so Flair runs in, and distracts HBK, so Batista can run in, and drills Orton with a clothesline. The other refs pull Batista and Flair out, and HHH gets up, and drags Orton up to nail the Pedigree to win.
Winner and New Champion - HHH

Too bad Carlito Caribbean Cool is on Smackdown instead of Raw. They'd have gone nuts for him tonight.

Thank god i didnt order this ppv. Im saving my ordering for the Royal Rumble.

Why even take the Belt off HHH if his gonna keep winning it back.

I just couldn't read any more after that..

They need some new blood with the title. Not HHH. ANYONE but HHH... it's been reported he's out to break Flair's world title record, which that itself is sad.

I've been watching this stguff since I was 5 (26 now) and hae never been so disappointed with the product as I am now. It's so damned predictable as to what going to happen.

Same thing will happen this year as it did last year.ORton will win the rumble.. win mania and then lose it to HHH.. AGAIN!

It makes sense for H to win it back so he can drop it to Orton or Batista at Mania

If they had stuck the belt on someone else they would have held it for a very short period so HHH could get it back for Mania lol

The plan now is for him to drop it to Batista after the Kane/Batista fued is done. But of course plans change daily now at WWE.

Or you have no inside info as to what the 'plan' is, and its just all BS.

Either way Triple H refuses to lose again. What else is new. I bet the buyrate for this one was really stellar. :lol

Well at least one good thing about the brand extention is Triple H isn't on one of the shows.

Shitty PPV overall. Only good match was the main event, which had a shitty ending anyway. It made no sense to have their first PPV in Puerto Rico be a RAW one. SD would've been much better suited for Puerto Rico as they have Carlito, Eddie, Rey and all the cruiserweights.

Damn this was in Puerto Rico? Wow the WWE must be getting really desperate for sold out crowds.

I like that Dave didn't win. Anyone that complains about it knows nothing about wrestling and doesn't realize that instant title wins don't build characters, slow burns and hot feuds do. Edge's turn, while it took fucking forever, ended up awesome when he finally did turn. When Batista finally snaps and beats the shit out of HHH, it will be one of the best moments of the year. If he had won tonight, it would have been a wasted opportunity to start a huge feud.

I do agree that this was all just so HHH could add another title win to his record list.

Liu, hate to tell you this but you are wrong. The mosty glaring and modern example of a title BUILDING a character is JBL. Love him or hate him, he wasn't anything until he had the title. It defines his character.

Benoit was another good example, nobody really cared about him until he had the gold around his waist. You could also say the same for Eddie Guerrerro, we was pretty much a non-factor until his title win over Lesnar.

I could dig through history and find tons of other examples of having the a title win be that big step they needed to finally get their characters over, when othing else will.

Titles, when given to those who need the boost, can define someone's character and finally get them over. This elimination chamber was a wasted opportunity just to get the belt back on HHH, someone NO ONE wants to see with the belt. Having Batista win it (I agree he's not ready, but he's old so time is limited), would have started the jealousy feud a little quicker and who knows if it could be the feud we all want.

Where does the Orton vs HHH feud go now? Orton was pinned in the middle of the ring for the belt, to me that pretty much signals the end of their feud. If they still go through with the Orton vs HHH for WM21 I will lose all respect for them. They have the feud closed, go somewhere else with it.

The only good part with the PPV was the trash talk by maven.

Very entertaining.
The bad part was that they made Benjamin totally squash him.

I love Benjamin a lot.. But I wanted to see a better match out of Maven.

Sadly nobody new really cared about them after they won either. And Ratings with JBL as champ are still plummeting. The WWE has run their titles right into the ground where people really dont seem to give a shit who is the champ any more.

Brian I know about the ratings plummeting, but that's a different topic for another time.

JBL as a character has had the belt for a while and his character has gotten nothing but beter. (See Xmas in Iraq for a hilarious example) Too bad his in ring ability is still about the level of my own, damn near non-existant.

Benoit when he had the belt for the first couple of months was getting pops like mad, he won over the crowd with ring work. Ringwork is something thats not focused on enough anymore.

But I aslo agree that WWE has run their title right into the ground. There is no importance to them, especially when the same person keeps getting the belt.

I think we could all agree that some one new and fresh needs to have the title and see if they could run with it. As unprepared as Orton is, he still deserved more than a transitional run as champ. He had the rug pulled from under him before he could even get his feet wet as champ. Which is a shame, considering he had promise.

I reallly don't think they should do Orton vs. HHH for WM21 anymore. They ended that pretty soundly by having HHH pin Orton (for the most part) cleanly. Where else can they go with it? Don't have Orton win the Rumble, if you do you are just retreading YET AGAIN.

To me it just seems like all the imagination is gone from the WWE's writing as of late. Oh well I still havea smalll glimmer of hope for this Sunday's TNA PPV. With any stroke of luck Monty Brown will have the title for a change of pace. It's amazing how over he is with the crowd.

I say have a surprise winner for the Royal Rumble. Star teasing Reveloution breaking up, and at the Royal Rumble have a bunch of backstage stuff happening with Flair .. and have Flair fluke his way in to a title match, and turn Flair good. Royal Rumbles are so predictable anymore, its just ridiculous. Have an actual 'fluke' winner.

I disagree completely.

Benoit won over the WWE crowd ages ago, before he got a sniff at the World Title. His win at WM was the culmination of his hard work, and the response he got was indicative of that. His title run itself didn't get anywhere the TV time it should have (look at JBL, he's all OVER Smackdown with the belt), which sucked, but Benoit was over before he had the belt. Eddie was also quite over with the crowd, both in his tag run with Chavo and going solo as a heel (remember that ladder match with Edge on Smackdown)? In fact, when Benoit and Eddie were part of the Smackdown Six, they were putting on incredible matches week in and week out, with the crowd firmly behind them.

JBL may be over now - to my shock, I'm actually entertained by his character now - but he absolutely needed the belt to get that run with the crowd. Without the belt, nobody would have given a shit about his gimmick change. As a cowardly heel champ, now, it plays to his strengths and lets him hide his weaknesses through some stellar mic work.

I place Batista squarely in the Benoit camp - the belt will provide the capper, not a crutch. People care about his character, thanks to the interplay between him, Flair and HHH....and to a lesser extent, Kane. His in-ring skills have improved significantly over the past 18 months, especially considering how big he is. I'd rate his match with Benoit (one of the best in the business) on last week's Raw a high watermark for Batista, who held his own and didn't require Benoit to carry him. Not like previous matches.

I'm a huge fan of this slow turn. There's more for the audience to invest themselves in, and it will mean much more when DAVE finally turns on Hunter and leaves him bloody, taking the gold. A quick turn a la Randy Orton will do nothing for him long term, and again, considering DAVE's age, the WWE needs to ensure that they utilize him to the fullest while he's here. Botching his turn will just ruin all the good they've done up to this point.

Batista is over, and he didn't need the belt. When it finally does happen, the place will explode.

Perhaps I misphrased things (which I'm known to do.. on a regular basis), I meant to say that the title was the last thing needed for Benoit and Guerrerro. Was a cappper I agree, but a NEEDED one. It's just a shame how their title runs got dicked over because they aren't 6-2+ and 300lbs.

Benoit was over when he got the Royal Rumble win, before that not so much due to him languishing on Smackdown. With that rumble win, he went through the roof and then died off as soon as he lost the belt to Orton at S.Slam. Without the title, the crowd was indifferent. When I went to Survivor Series this was pretty apparant. The crowd didn't cheer much for him, but they did boo when he was he first eliminated.

Now with Benoits moment in the sun gone, I doubt he'll get anywhere close to the title again. Other than the occasional Raw title shot or inclusion into a multi person match I think he's seen his peak. But what a eak to have title winner at WM.

He was one of my tops with his ECW and WCW work, but he seemed to start all over again once he walked through the pearly gates of Vinnyland. But nonetheless, the man has ALL of my respect and I consider him one of the greatest in-ring technicians to ever step between the ropes.

Eddie has always been a weird one to me, his ring work is good as are his promos but I really can't identify with the character. Only after he got the belt from Lesnar was I a bit more of a fan. him having the title made him a better character wth a much higher level of confiidence in his ringwork and promo time that he was lacking before. Before the title run he always seemed to be a cruiser or midcarder.. not Heavyweight contention title material.

But there have been plenty of examples where the title has been a crutch to prop up and weak character or in-ring worker, this has nothing to do with being "over". Hell, Ultimate Warrior was one of the wekest one dimensional workers out there (in ring and on mic), yet the title runs he had defined him and without them he pretty much faded away.

The question is this though, now that they have finally sealed the Orton vs HHH feud (we can only hope I'm tired of seeing it) how do you book WM now? We can pretty much book a new champ as of WM 21, ut who and how?

How do you book the SD side considering JBL will be the champ to and possibly PAST WM.

Yeah, the ME was the only good match, but we sorta knew that going in... and as a match it had some awesome spots.. HHH in the Walls and Crossface at the same time.. ALLSOME! Benoit with the head but off the top of the plastic thingy.. great. Batista also came in like a house of fire and played the big man great..

the end was the let down. I was 99% sure Trips picks up the strap (he is the only one that a short title run to WM wont hurt.. *maybe* Benoit could have done it too.. but Trips had to win).. but the way it went down bored me... they needed to do more with Batista.. I think HHH should have been getting his ass beat and Batista should have come to his rescue a few times... maybe even Batista has to break a pinfall to save HHH.. then when Batista gets pinned Trips just sits there and watches it. I think that keeps Batista in place while adding to the rift between them. I wanted SOMETHING to happen with that story.. it just seemed like it was Batista the mindless monster from 6 months ago in the ring.

Edit: JBL is dropping the strap to Show.. Im fairly sure.. I dont think JBL is the guy to hand Cena the strap, and I dont see anyone else taking the belt from him... they've run through all the faces.

Lyte Edge

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag
Looks like both Eugene and Lita suffered legit injuries; no works this time:

The latest update on Eugene is that he has suffered a dislocated patella. It was a freak injury that occurred on a dropkick. He is being evaluated today and it is not yet known if it will require surgery or how long he will be out.

Lita suffered a sprained knee. She will not require any surgery and it is not known how long she will be out of action either.

After New Years Revolution, in the San Jaun International Airport, both Eugene and Lita were spotted being pushed in wheelchairs. Eugene was spotted and appeared to be in much pain. There is no word on how long either of them will be out, but at this point it looks as though both will be out for a few weeks to several months.

I knew that HHH would win the title, but it still sucks. :p I KNOW he needs to have the belt at WM to drop it to whoever he faces and make the title win that muh bigger, but isn't there still a few more PPVs left before 'Mania? Couldn't someone else have won the title, only to lose it on TV weeks later to HHH?

Oh, and Rajah.com reported this, whihc I found amusing:

Maven’s match last night was booked to be so short, because of management’s lack of confidence in Maven to carry a presentable match at this point. The feeling is that he is not applying himself in his matches recently on house shows. It is amazing that WWE management would go ahead and book this match, when they had concerns going into it.

StoOgE

First tragedy, then farce.
Eugene also dislocated his knee.. he's out for a while.

and there is one PPV between now and WM, the Royal Rumble.. and Trips is the only one that can afford to have a 2 month title reign.. it would kill the momentum of anyone else. Benoit and Y2J could survive it... but it would hurt either of them (especially since Y2J's only title run was so weak).. a short title run could destroy Orton or Batista's career. Batista probably wont really be ready for this until Summerslam at the earliest.. maybe Survivor Series or WM.

Listening to the Law last night, the hosts made a couple of interesting points. First, when you've got the top six workers on the Raw roster in one match (seven if you count HBK), the undercard eating camel balls shouldn't be a huge surprise. Second, they both agree that HHH/Orton at Wrestlemania is dead as a door nail, and the most logical matchup by far is HHH vs Batista. Can't say I neccessarily disagree...the only other guy that I think could be dropped in that main event is Edge, and two heels going at it at Wrestlemania doesn't make much sense.

Well...they are drawing out the Batista/HHH stuff like they should have done with Orton. The crowd is going to turn Batista for the WWE. I bet Batista will win the Rumble to set up WM. I think that Batista is over enough that the WM main event can be only him versus HHH.

It is shocking how people's attitude towards Batista has changed in a year. People HATED him before. He was getting X-Pac heat. But now, he is actually someone people look forward to seeing on Raw.

I'm calling the end of the RR right now... Orton and Batista will be the final two. Clotheline from batista will send both men to the outside at the same time... setting up Batista (still in evo) vs. HHH vs. Orton. Orton vs. Trips matches have been pretty 'meh' but Batista vs. Orton have been stellar, and HHH vs. Batista has classic written all over it. the power of DAVE will carry the match.

good show tonight.. did all the story stuff they SHOULD have done last night... I dont know exactly where they are going with this.. Im thinking another fake turn is in order.. I think Trips beats down Orton with Batistas help.. holds the strap till Summerslam then the turn happens.
