Dark and Light is Horizons 2. A promising MMO that will fizzle within weeks due to it not being backed by a company who can handle a game in the genre.

No, I was saying Dark and Light is basically Horizons 2 because Horizons never even took off because Artifact didn't know what they were doing and Atari just wanted the money.

Ahh ok. Just wondering what happens to MMORPGs that never take off.

Actually, there are some things to believe this is not Horizons 2. One of the is that it doen´t need multiple serves, all work in just one for what I know, so the costs will be more suitable).

There are MMORPG that without being WoW can sustain themselves pretty well (EVE and Second Life comes to my mind, neither is backed from a great company).

I would like to add Conan as well, that games looks really promising and it´s quite ambitious.

Isn't Star Trek due out in 2006? That has the potential to be big.

FWIW, I thought Vangaurd looked terrible at E3. And sounded boring as well. Tedium ad nauseum for the lose. =\

D&DO could be cool; I'm doubtful it really takes off, though.

Dark & Light looked like arse at E3 as well; also, it doesn't have the backing to do anything significant in the US.

Tabula Rasa I have high hopes for, but we'll see how it turns out. They still have a year or so of dev time IIRC, so personally I'm waiting for beta to make any judgements.

And who knows? Maybe SOE will fix Galaxies at some point :lol

Too fucking slow. I mean sure it sounds great that you can have a battle with 8 people, but when it's 8 people versus a single tofu, it takes fucking forever because all 8 people have to move into position, but usually moving once isn't enough so they move twice. Before you know it you take 5 minutes to kill one fucking low level enemy.

It's just too slow, even for a MMORPG.

I mentioned it as a joke.
