Nope. The resolution will be the only difference. If dynamic res is enabled, PS5 will render at a slightly lower res than SX that will be imperceptible unless zoomed-in in a side-by-side comparison, but that's about it. Graphics will be identical.

Nope, its the retail cost for discs. Basically my plan is.....I will share my PSN account with my brother and we will split the cost of games. Also i'll get some extra discount on top of that by paying pre-paid PSN wallet top ups from shopto which are always on discount. Like a £50 top up is sold for £43 etc.Fuck. That.

Looks fantastic and can probably look good for a good couple of years and looking at it you probably wouldn't even think anything needs improvement but the Next-Gen 4K Blu ray looks even better

This cross gen situation is definitely not ideal, but it does seem possible to do it right (e.g. RDR2 and hopefully Cyberpunk) and it can be done wrong (e.g. Halo Infinite). I think if Devs throw enough money/teams at two distinct different versions to not let lower performance versions hold back the next gen versions then maybe it won't be as much as of a negative as feared. Will be very interesting to see the differences between the disparate versions of cross gen games. It will be very evident if it is done right or wrong.

Well, if you want to get technical about it, the difference in the 1 inch to 6 inch punch is the speed that is built up over the greater distance. Bruce didn't have any more POWER available to him the second time over the first. The increased distance let him build up more speed and momentum.
That and of course, the fact that this was a slightly BS demo for a large crowd....

The hironic side is that Demon's remake could be the most impressive soulslike ever. You got seven maps (or 8, if they add the cut content) and you can get there right from the start, your choice. It's a game that offers a completely free order of execution beyond even Dark Souls, as its interconnected nature created some other limitations. In this sense the SSD is far more useful, I can warp in all these places instantly? Fuck me, I'm ready. And if they expand on the world tendency you could get a far more dynamic ambient than any other of the genre. Plus, it will be the most competent from a tech perspective given it's Bluepoint, and I believe they are completely remaking every aspect, so you will get the best U.I., best quality of life stuff, best audio and balance.
This is really taking a classic and use its unique strenghts as a classic to make an incredible modern soulslike.

The Jaguar CPU on PS4, and literally the biggest problem here. Maybe someone has already noticed, but 2 cores of the PS5 CPU yield more than all 8 cores of the PS4, not to mention the extra earnings from the architecture.

Well the fact is, a PS4 version has to work on PS4. So you simply cannot cut the CPU, geometry and design have to be the same in both versions or they are not the same game, so starting from that is already a problem:
Insominiac (and no details have yet been given) using 1080p30fps PS4 as the base version of Spyderman (MM) 4k60fps is more than mandatory in the PS5 version as we are seeing a difference of almost 10 times of raw power. (Not counting the optimizations architecture).
Even the poor SSD is underutilized here as the game has to run on the HD 5400rpm. Literally begins PS5 with 4 flat tires.
And if Halo's criticism was about an Xbox One version delaying the new generation, here Sony stuck in the puddle ...
Horizon FW apparently will suffer literally double, while Insominiac has two titles and the Guerrilla has focused on this game since 2018 (this would be Sony's Halo) the most important game on PS5, downgraded to crossgen ... the scale of the map, drawing distance, the game's own mechanics and interaction with the world, geometry and of course RAM will literally be for other games ...

I don't think so, because they didn't say anything about Rachet and Clank so it's 80% exclusive to PS5 (but of course if you told me Horizon FW has a PS4 version, I would also doubt it and accuse you of FUD) .
This is the problem with some Sony fans spending so much time beating up the Xbox for cross-gen, is you open the door for months or years of this kind of nonsense, where a game that legitimately looked good in its trailer last night, gets squiggly lines around what i assume it just normal LOD that every game employs.
For the record, I never complained about cross-gen. I don't think it's an issue, and it's happened every generation. I'm not sure why it was supposed to suddenly matter this go-round. Console wars always start before anyone has the receipts, and the console warriors always write checks their systems can't cash. Then every gaming conversation devolves into a bunch of people nitpicking everything. This is why we can't have nice things.

I'd argue agains the Cheaper APU side. Sure, the GPU is smaller, but then you have all these custom bits that may impact size and cost. We won't know without a teardown.

I just want it for the potential eARC improvements so I don't have to jury rig a setup for Rocksmith due to the slight audio lag with HDMI on ARC now with that game.
