Basically all the games you've mentioned should be in launch window (6 months) but due covid all bets are off. Still i think all those games will be released till end of 2021. And i don't see anything able to compete with that lineup from MS.

I think Microsoft was making a huge bet that Halo Infinite and Gamepass would be huge system sellers.

If Demon souls is a day one launch game, that is huge.

i remember when i first looked at getting a ps4, it was bloodborne that really sold me.

not sure how big the souls community is, i know they are seriously hardcore, but there is no better place to play souls games than ps5, esp if bloodborne gets some sort of patch.

So two RT games at launch. Anything else?

My list of games that I want to play on PS5 at launch.

  1. Ghost of Tsushima
  2. The Last of Us Part 2
  3. Dreams
  4. Spiderman Miles Morales
  5. Demon Souls (if rumors are true)
That seems like a very solid lineup for me.

The Souls community keeps growing, that's for sure. Started out fairly niche but dedicated with Demon Souls and then Dark Souls. With DS II and III though a LOT more people got involved. I wouldn't say it's near the size of fan groups for say Halo...but it's definitely a pretty large one!

He was trolling the MS Flight Sim thread claiming that the game does nothing special, nitpicking that not every single spot in the WORLD looks perfect and that next gen didn't arrive with this game but with TLOU2 and GOT. They are more impressive than Flight.

To be honest he had a point.

As it stands, Flight Sim is broken as a flight simulation. The auto flight systems are bugged, the physics and aerodynamics are way off sim fidelity, and there are weird graphical and physics anomalies.

This "simulation" wasn't ready for release.

The gushing over it is by non-sim users - ie casuals.

By analogy it's like someone buying a street fighter iteration where the mechanics are broken, the inputs are laggy and unresponsive and the hit boxes aren't fit for purpose - but they love it because the backgrounds look great.

That's what "gamers" are saying about flight sim right now. In sim communities it's largely disappointment and waiting years for flight sim to be fixed .... again, and at great cost because it'll be left to 3rd party add ons to fix it.

So yeah. He was right.

i guess with souls games, you kinda know what your getting in terms of quality.

my understanding was the last halo game was not that great and after the delay and the problems with the latest one, it's hard to be a Halo fan, always being let down it seems.

Oh this 'Hardcore' community is huge mate...

Not even including Bloodborne or Sekiro.

Can't speak for multiplayer but I thought the single player content of Halo 5 was ten times better than Halo 1, 2 and 3 all together. Fuck the Flood. Boring The Thing rejects. At least Halo 4 and 5 added enemies who were really interesting to fight.

So it will be Spiderman and Demons Souls vs Scorn and Medium?

Yeah that doesn't look good to me. Having Spiderman and Demon Souls ready at launch is a pretty big deal.

Cerny, Ryan ... what foul sorcery is this??

Maybe the rumors of a PS5 delay are true? I meant the delay from 2019. It could be possible that developers have been working on PS5 games for a while now.

First-party vs indie-like devs (nothing wrong about that, just we know the outcome already)

There is something wrong with it in my opinion. Xbox's line up is comparatively fucking shit. Again, this is if the Demon's Souls thing is true. If it is then yeah, Xbox's is comparatively shit, on paper. Medium and Scorn could end up as 90/100 games so you never know.

I think sony was waiting with their show becuase they wanted to be sure they can start marketing DS as launch title and it won't be delayed due COVID.

I'm one of those people who believe a ps5 pro will release in 2023/2024 as an 8k30/4k60 higher raytracing visuals and visuals overall and better longer draw distances.

I predict something like a 8, 12 or 16 core zen 2 cpu running at between 4-5 Ghz to give the ps5 pro 50-100% performance over ps5's cpu.

GPU will have 72 active cu's and maybe 8 disabled with a higher clockspeed than ps5 because of better cooling solutions, maybe 2.5-2.8 Ghz speeds and 64-96 rops somewhere in between 25-35 tflops rdna 3
or rdna 4 PS5 pro need to be atleast 2.5 to 3 times more powerful than ps5 maybe even 4 times more powerful thanks to better architecture of rdna 3/4.

Memory will be upgraded to GDDR6X and the amount will increase to either 20 gbs or 24 gbs and the bandwidth will most likely increase to 880 gb/s to 1tb/s.

SSD will stay the same in terms of read/write speeds of 8-9 gb/s uncompressed and 5.5 gb/s compressed but whether it will have 825 gb or 1,65 tb of storage will depend on the overall cost of the other hardware parts.

Not even Mount Rushmore can be seen. So yeah, this "Game" is far from perfect.

i have such a back log of games, its insane tbh. Tbh i don't even need launch games, i have 10+ in reserve

You'd just need either one of Spiderman or Demon's Souls to 'beat' Series X launch line-up let's be honest (from what we know). It has got to be their worst line-up for a console launch so far.

You could also say Add-On + Remaster vs 2 new IPs. But keep on doing what you're doing.

Remake not remaster. Also Spiderman isn't an add-on it's standalone content.

For what it's worth, a distributor in the UK that distributes Sony published titles only added R&C, Demon Souls, GT7 and Spider-Man to their system.

No Horizon, Sackboy, Returnal etc. That could possibly point to those four titles being launch and launch window.

So no.

Yep

All I'm saying, that like Lost Legacy, MM will be a smaller game in scope and length than Spider-Man. So in my opinion the term Add-on isn't to far off.
I mean when something like SMMM could be called "add-on" on PlayStation on the other hand releasing on PC or XSX it would be instant GOTY contender.

Lost Legacy was great but not as good as Thief's End.
Didn't have that big journey biotope diversity pirate shenanigans snarky Nate energy.
With U4 i was bored in half of the game, and i put it down for a month.
Also i think trains sequence in LL was better than anything shown in U4.
