Stop calling each other fanboys. it's childish and petty, especially in glass houses.

Ah Mr. 128 gigs of ram.
Thanks for sharing - balances out id concerns if DICE are happy with the hardware. Say what you will about their games, but DICE's Frostbite engine is a damn fine piece of engineering.
It wasn't a dice dev as someone pointed out.Which post states DICE is happy with the hardware? I'm not seeing it.
Who is Angel Kavazov?
Working in QA.

He in the end said this previously deleted that tweet :
Surely he was posted deleted tweet in bad faith. Yeah, he knows quality = XSS /s
Much appreciatedIt wasn't a dice dev as someone pointed out.
plz tell me you didnt think this was real, even for a second...WTF is happening to this man?
"The message we wanted to send with Xbox All Access is that we will stop at nothing to get every single human being on Earth to sign up for Game Pass. We heard some people might not do it because they prefer the PS5, so we decided to just buy them one," said Phil Spencer, VP of Gaming at Microsoft. "Will you sign up for Game Pass now? We want it so bad."

Microsoft Announces Xbox All Access Will Now Include a PS5
REDMOND, Wash. — Microsoft announced that the new Xbox All Access monthly subscription would include an Xbox Series X console, EA Play, Game Pass, Xbox…thehardtimes.net
EDIT: It's a joke.
plz tell me you didnt think this was real, even for a second...
cause if you did thats a really worrying state of mind
According to specs released by MS, XSS' SSD has the same speed as XSX's. To think that Kena loads from menu in 2 seconds, 12 is not 'just a couple more seconds'.exactly, that's why i believe va is having some issues. OR XSS uses a really really slow SSD. no biggie though. even with the advertised speed of va, i don't expect the games will design around it. so just a couple more seconds wait time in the loading screen. definitely not the end of the world.
They already said there would be no PS5 news this week, when was the last time we saw Sony reacting to MS?EEEEE Yeah so PS5 will not reveal any information today as well. Same pattern next week.... Probably be last minute pre order open in November.

Robert is ex Infinity Ward (2012), founded Robotoki (2012).If you ask me again, I will answer the same:
it is a very shallow train of thought -at best case scenario- that leads people making such comments.
if a console manufacturer broadens up the nextgen customer base, that is also broadening up the business (and the proceeds) of those that are whining now. they have to work for it though, that's the "caveat".
I don't know in which part of the earth you live, but as a general rule most people finances are under uncertainty since some months because of the pandemic.
Try to imagine that sony came out and told you "Hey, you know what? because some of us are going through insecure or difficult times, I have also a scaled down version of Playstation 5, with which you can play all the same new games, but at a lower resolution. So here, take this option under consideration too if you like"
Would your response be the same?
Don't even answer. I know the answer, everybody does.
Now
I don't think that quoting developers for console war ammunition is mature,
but anyway, since you called me for that reason specifically, here are some things I saw earlier,
and clearly, 100% prefer their way of thinking:

So,
are we good, or do I need write more?
And Robert Bowling was the Community Manager, not really a full on dev.Robert is ex Infinity Ward (2012), founded Robotoki (2012).
Angel is DICE QA.
what are you even talking about? he is a quality analyst at dice and not only for battlefield but for star wars too.It wasn't a dice dev as someone pointed out.
It might have some unique improvements over S games, but it can't play all Xbox One X games if Xbox One X games had up to 9 GB of RAM.Is that Series S only playing One S versions of BC real?![]()

Looks like. Less available ram than XOX. I'm curious how they will sort this out.Is that Series S only playing One S versions of BC real?![]()
Microsoft is a protected class now?So i see the era thread about actual devs raising issues about the xss specs was locked in two hours. Over a dozen devs, but nope, things got heated so entire thread closed. Now only the threads praising the xbox series s are allowed.
Thank god for gaf. I cannot believe you are not allowed to discuss negative aspects of a console on video game forums nowadays. Note to mods: keep up the good work and please dont let this place turn into another era where we cannot discuss things that might upset a fanbase of a console.

The only theory I have is that maybe Microsoft didn't focus on eliminating I/O bottlenecks as much as Sony has.
Just looking at the specifications it should only take twice as long to load something. Anything more than that is probably due to some sort of bottleneck or bad optimization.
Come over here devs. We are eager for information and you'll be treated like kings. So i see the era thread about actual devs raising issues about the xss specs was locked in two hours. PS5's theoretical peak is 22gb/sec while XSX theoretical peak is 6gb/sec.
And then we have the bottleneck differences and 22gb/sec was also measured before they purchased oodle texture compression/decompression.
THIS!Come over here devs. We are eager for information and you'll be treated like kings.
Also, we know how to handle information without thinking everything is a personal attack.

Or it is a game running In BC mode that has no work done. The series x has a hybrid IO with no work done the software side don't work so it is just a fast SSD. It is not hard to understand. The only theory I have is that maybe Microsoft didn't focus on eliminating I/O bottlenecks as much as Sony has.

I never heard QA being translated to "quality analyst", which would make them even less technichal than the usual "quality assurance" (what it usually means). The technical knowledge of QA and an engine developer isn't even comparable. From my experience, they only have basic knowledge of how things work and no hands on experience/detailed understanding. From how and what you write, I guess it is comparable to your own knowdlege?what are you even talking about? he is a quality analyst at dice and not only for battlefield but for star wars too.

I think it makes them look honest, personally. I'd much rather they show me how fast my third party games are potentially going to load at launch, rather than a hypothetical load time that will be achieved at some point by a first party developer.Well then they should stop producing unoptimized demos to show off the I/O. It makes them look like amateurs in my opinion.
P.S They also did this with SOD.
When talking software, a quality analyst is not the same as a QA officer. go do some googlingQA is Quality Assurance.
It is about enforcing a documented and consistent process to ones work. It is unrelated to understanding underlying tech. QA certified here by the way.
I never understood 'Go fuck yourself'Who me?
Go fuck yourself.

MS badly needs to show off XSS vs XSX games.
Dev comments are negative across the board, but also seem to be commenting on paper specs.
your comprehension is minimal, and I am not your parent to feel obliged to teach you things. Is that like the cool stoner guys in grandma's boy?
Didnt you see Mod of war's post above? Stop trying to call each other fanboys and start shit.Likes to shit on MS. Check.

Well, Sony told us loading was going away - instantaneous asset streaming! Their Ratchet demo has masked loading screens in the form of transportation portals, that just take the player through what appears to be a series of on-rail sections, with only one or two meaningful "jumps" into actual gameplay. While I appreciate it's still pretty darn impressive how much they can load, their demo immediately deflated Cerny's hype, for me. The particle, lighting, and shadow effects were more impressive than their IO.They can always do something similar like Sony and show off something like Ratchet. I think Sony did a good job in showing off their I/O.
yes there is. and I am pretty sure that on ps5 backwards compatible games that are not specifically optimized for ps5 will not take full advantage of ssd features and compression too.Is there any written confirmation that work needs to be done on the software side or is it only an assumption at this point?
your comprehension is minimal, and I am not your parent to feel obliged to teach you things.

The value you bring to this thread with your posts is zero. Then, after googeling, what does a "quality analyst" in software development do? I could tell you what QA does in our company, but you threw that title around..your comprehension is minimal, and I am not your parent to feel obliged to teach you things.
Perfect description of yourself!I feel that your effort to explain things is 100% wasted here. its like every new page there is a complete reset in everything, and trolling starts again from point zero. like groundhog day, remember how I called this thread?
SSD will definitely help on that matter, but while XSS will need to park less assets in RAM than should be needed with HDD loading, probably about 10 seconds of gameplay, PS5 will only need 1-2 seconds parked. But what about Mark Cerny's comments that the RAM will be used more efficiently because of the quicker speed at getting stuff in to it from the SSD? 10GB RAM is more like 30GB, is what I've interpreted that as (2x-3x workable increase).
Like I said, I think Microsoft are just being honest with what they're delivering up front, and I'd prefer that. I'm sure we'll see Microsoft's "no loading" Next Gen game when it exists and they can deliver it.
Well now I want to know.Edit:
I spoke on something about the xss rumors and probably shouldnt have.
They could always bring up Denis Dyack... *runs*You know what dev stands for? The people who are experienced on making games.
If a baker tells you that the oven brand X is not good, you believe in who? The manufacturer of the oven or the baker?
