Next Generation GTA - What would you like to see on it?

If kids and animals were added, you know what everyone would do to them. :lol

I want more SHOOTOUTS. It seems there's hardly any of this, because I'm always flying a plane, or driving a car from point A to point B. There should only be more shootouts and firefights only if the aiming and the guns were upgraded. You should be able to throw your weapon to trade for others, and not carry 10 different ones at a time. I say, 4 at max. You should be able to shoot guns out of people's hands, make them suffer by shooting them and they'd fall to the ground, blood spewing out crying for help, instead of just dying.

And MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE, I WANT RAG-DOLL PHYSICS. :D

Weird, I felt that SA focused WAY too much on the firefights. I liked them at first, but after a while it just got a little old. Since the enemies pretty much just stand there and shoot at you, all of the shootout missions (except for the one involving the fake casino chips) could be done by just inching forward, locking on, and cycling through the stationary targets and blowing them away. It seemed to me that there were a lot less driving parts in the main missions, and more on-foot shooting. Heck, even the
casino heist
that was built up to for a good chunk of the game just boiled down to one big gunfight, followed by a completely unopposed drive back to base.

Another thing that really bugged me about SA compared to GTA3 (never played Vice), was the heavier emphasis on scripted paths and missions. There were too many spots where a target was inexplicably invincible until a certain part, or where you're forced into going a specific route, like in the last mission.

While I like the fact that money actually did something in SA, practically every property you bought was just an extra save spot. I remember when I finally bought my first property in LS, expecting to at least have an extra spawn for the spray paint so I wouldn't have to drive all the way back to CJ's every time I died or got busted.

It'd be nice to use the money to have more of a sim aspect to the game. Like you could pay some courier service to go around to your assets and pick up the cash they generate. Then the couriers could be attacked by rival gangs or something, so that you would either have to protect them yourself, or pay them more for better security.

Gang wars, while a neat idea, ended up being pretty basic in practice. Aside from the fact that it's an absolute pain to find enemy gang members to kill to start the war in the first place, the fact that it was just a swarm of them running at you made them really easy once you got your AK skill to hitman, and it got pretty repetitive after a while. If anything, each zone should have had its own objective that would change control of it to another gang. Maybe a few zones could have had a crack house that you had to clean out to own the territory, and another could have had you pressuring business owners in the area to pay your gang for "protection" or something.

Also, a little more order to the way you could take over territory would have been neat. Make it so that you can only take territory on the edge of the enemy turf, and you have to work your way in. Heck, they could even have a headquarters of sorts that you could try and take out to completely eliminiate the gang presence entirely, or at least severely weaken it in their other territories.

i'd like to see the them take it back from petty ghetto street crime to orginized crime again of some sort. mafia stuff just seems so much mo betta.
:lol

Shit, you guys have some great ideas. Rag Doll is a must.. Ever play Stair Dismount or Truck Dismount? That's how i want the physics to be. You can download them for free, just Google them up, i know truck dismount is named "Rekkaturvat", forgot what stair dismount was.

I want the ability to flip my car over (Master Chief style) or just never have it topple over. Having to walk while in the middle of nowhere because my car flipped over after hitting a 2" pebble PISSES ME OFF. And when they add more environmental detail for nextgen, it can only get worse I assume.

I enjoyed exploring the cities, countryside and interiors. It's like a big virtual doll house, which could appeal to youngsters. So here's a daring request. Remove the violence from the game, slap on the Bratz license, and make a kid's game.

uhm, my kid sure as hell will not play it if it uses the bratz license.

why not; if it is to be for kids, use a marvel license? or something like that.
at least then it could appeal to boys and girls and still have some rough stuff.

i just don't want to see street crime again. Mafia... Mafia... Mafia...

Lots of different environments like in SA , i don't like one big city in GTA 3 & Vice City . I also like to see animals , bears attacking you in the countryside and that sort of stuff :) .

Games with Dogs and Sidekicks that are useful maybe even online sidekicks and dogs.
Actual real looking blood and gore.
Real bullet wounds and blood effects dripping staining (etc.)

-Cops that actually act like cops, IE when i run a red light at 100 miles per hour right in front of them THEY ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

That would not be fun! God, the cops are annoying enough as it is in the games.

I say split the series into two:

Grand theft Auto: keeps the spirit of the originals going and improves on them: cel shaded grahics, more action oriented, a little more scripted. The game would continue in the Vice City type experience and be all about the style and single player experience. Get rid of the girlfriends, eating, working out etc., and make this a straight forward one player experience. Lots of action in a smaller game world (as compared to SA), more arcady if you will.

Then Release:

Grand Theft America: MMO style, going for as much realism as posible. Have the game based on the whole of America (including the cities of Liberty, Vice, LS Etc. plus more), and make the gameplay as open ended as possible.

The missions are tier based; the ones you play are based on your street cred score or repect whatever, which is developed by completing missions, but also not fucking with other people (that have more cred than you). This hould hopefully keep the game a little more playable. Also the number of people able to be at the top tiers is limited, so these ppl would be the crime bosses. Their game would be like more like SimCrime, where they plan out the strategy of their gang. Each tier has its own 50 missions or so, and when your done you move up/need to take out the person above you.

Also this game is where you have all the RPG elements of San Andreas (eating etc. etc.) and these can be expanded on Fable style. I also want to see live streaming radio , and daily news broadcast building on whats happening by real players in the game - only the most fucked up shit. Real working cell phones in game so you can call up your buds/fellow gang members in the game world and connect with them.

What I really want to see is for it to evolve from just free roaming gameplay to true free form. Like an urban Elder Scrolls game. I want to be able to be a cop, or a politician, or a crime lord, or even just a farmer.

I think this time around they should maybe go for the create-a-character mode. Make it really expansive. Add more accesory options such as necklaces, gloves, rings, etc.

I hope they make the overall city smaller this time, but give each and every npc multiple things to say and ways in which you interact with. Basically, even though the scope of the game will be smaller, the people you interact with will be much more human. LIke say for example you kill some random guy. His brother could then plot revenge on you and even get a little gang together to come and take you out. Just make the ways the characters interact with each other more human.

Another example. Say you have on some really nice clothes and a guy is walking with his girlfriend. The girlfriend stops and starts giving you the eye. The guy gets mad, makes some smart remark your way and tries to fight you. As he starts approaching you, you pull your gun out and he gets scared... His girl proceeds to call him a coward and leaves him for you.

How about the fact that your car can get dirty as you continue to drive it... You leave it and you notice that someone has written shit on your car by wiping away the dirt. Or you can see some bastard sitting on your car as you come back for it, and if you're buff, they'll flee, but if you're skinny, they'll try to be all macho.

Some sort of strategy elements like resource management, fund raising and placement for dealers and guys to protect them. Management of the gang by placing orders to maintain territory as well as for gaining more. I want GTA + RotTK.

Edit: BTW GTA + Fallout would rock.

WASD-style controls.

Not just the PC port's WASD-style controls, but have it in the game from day one. Let me walk while firing an AK, even if I have shitty aim. Let me jump and shoot.

Hell, just make all of the on-foot stuff control exactly like Max Payne.
