I decided to un-blackhole the site on my router to take a stroll through that thread and related ones. It's pretty funny how delusional their mods and other staff are. No impartial business figure from MOBA are going to look at the moronic, irrational, inconsistent, fully-emotionally driven bullying that they call "moderation" and decide that any of them should stick around. They're only going to be concerned with outright flaming and clearly bigoted or racist rhetoric. No more weird, nitpicky, make up a word salad on the fly to justify an angry decision moderation once they fully take over.

So the gaming forum will probably continue to remain much the same, if less busy. But that off-topic side will see drastic changes as the asshole, unemployed mods get cycled out.

• Brand it as a new beginning with a less strict approach to moderation which was kept for a few months then slowly devolved over time to even stricter moderation and echo chambers.
• Basically do nothing as your mod team runs the site and your stolen community provides all the content.
• Make absolute bank (4.5 million fucking dollars) selling to whoever the fuck is buying highest, drop an announcement at 2AM EST, then disappear never to be heard from again.

Like, I almost have to respect this level of hustle.

Regardless of user base, to be fair if the site made $700k revenue with 80% profit margin EBITA ($560k), the net profit after tax I'd ballpark is $400k.

Assuming the profit stays flat, they bought a site with an 11 year payback and that excludes the value of the site which they always sell off too in the future.

They are probably thinking a big game forum with lots of users will grow when all their online gamers part of their sites signs up.
