There are a few I didn't bold...I don't follow the teams enough, even in news, to know much about them to make any predictions.

U mad bro?

In a world where the motto "Any Giving Sunday" reigns true, the fact that Chargers have played well the past few weeks and Detroit play poor bodes well for Detroit losing. Am I saying it's a definite or even extremely likely? no, but it is a real possibility.

Not mad, just speaking in truth. The Chargers "any given Sunday" motto reads more like this:

"Most given Sundays we will be fucking terrible"

And I expect this to be true. Its all moot, though, because the Cards are going to get roasted by the Red Rifle

Believe me, I've been frustrated with the Chargers all year due to fantasy football but the fact remains that they've played better the past two weeks and going into tomorrow's game, it obviously makes more sense to go off of how they are currently performing as opposed to earlier on. Detroit sure didn't look intimidating against Oakland. That's all fine and dandy if a Detroit fan feels confident, but to just trash the Chargers like that and try to say Cards will get owned by Dalton only reveals your fear. Detroit vs San Diego is a game that can go either way just as the Cards versus Bengals. ESPECIALLY amidst the Colts upsetting the Texans.

BTW, the "Red Rifle" hasn't been so hot at home. 3-6 record and more INT than TD's. Green isn't 100 percent. I would not count the Cards out.

WHERE YOU AT SQUALL? Because your lack of football knowledge got shit on

Edit: Nice thread like always Buckets

Aren't the Texans locked into the 3rd seed? They have nothing to play for against Titans.

Titans win will give them a shot at playoff so they will take advantage of any goodwill Texans give.

8. Tennessee Titans (8-7)
Lead the Jets for the No. 8 seed due to a better record in common games (4-1 vs. 3-2). Hold the same tiebreaker edge vs. the Raiders but lose a head-to-head tie with the Bengals. Would clinch the No. 6 seed with a win and a Bengals loss and either a Jets win or both a Broncos win and Raiders win (but not all three).

Ravens are still playing for a first round bye so Bengals loss is guaranteed. I shake my head at Titans losing to Colts and putting themselves in an even crappier position.

CBS Sports reporting that Gruden is ready to return to coaching next season for "the right job " and that that job is the Rams job...coupled with his generally "down" attitude regarding Bradford , could be interesting if he's hired and they have the #1 pick...

That got that from the San Diego paper, which is plugged in to the STL owner via the Spanos family. I actually don't mind Smith, but no way on Gruden. How many QB mistakes does that guy have to make before people realize he can't coach them? He always likes what he doesn't have. Then when he gets it, he likes something else

edit: GO COLTS!

EEELLLLIIII WWWOOOAAAHHH EEEEELLLLIIIII WWWWOOOOAAAAHHH (will only get that if you watch Gameday on NFL network)

Let the Guruden destroy your team (even more than it already is) and then you can hire the "new and improved" Raheem Morris!

Well he wouldn't be running the draft. But still, he doesn't develop young players. I want a strong GM who has the power to tell the coach he has to be patient and let the young players grow. What in Gruden's history says he is capable of that? b/c he will have to with how many holes the Rams have

Hope all the little Filipino kids forget to pray for Tebow again. Raiders will make the playoffs, actually I'd prefer if they made wildcard and play the Texans instead of the Steelers

How great would that be? A head coach who promises every player he's got an awesome new contract at the end of the season paired together with a GM that almost never gives players awesome new contracts. I cant even imagine the kind of friction and animosity those two could generate while working together.

Oh one more thing Rams fans. You literally cannot handle the amount of hyperbole that falls out of Gruden's mouth. You think you've gotten a real taste of Gruden's ridiculous amount of hyperbole from watching MNF? You aint seen nothing yet St. Louis. The man probably shits hyperbole. I'm sure that for Gruden every shit is the greatest shit ever. "See this shit right here? This shit is a toilet-bowl-clogger."

Some choice team quotes after last night -

"It’s pretty embarrassing the way we played" - Curtis Lofton

“I don’t even know what this means — I don’t have a clue" - Roddy White

“I felt like we had a good week of preparation. I didn’t see this coming." - Mike Smith.

Brees claimed after the game he wasn't thinking about the passing record. What a jackass. He must have been incredibly confused when the Saints were still passing up 22 points with less than four minutes to go inside the Falcons ten yard line.

Okay.. this is one of the first things I've read this morning, and I literally laughed aloud, especially after hearing Gruden's voice in my head saying it.

As far as Gruden goes, I'm in the minority who wants him to stay put on MNF. He's hyperbolic, sure, but he's also fun, especially when I think of all of the other fuddy-duddy, white-bread announcers out there. So many other announcers are booooring, and I think MNF could do much worse.

If anything, they need to work on getting better match-ups, as this year has had more than its fair share of snoozers. Then again, it's sometimes difficult to tell at the beginning of the season which games are actually going to be decent; the NFL is unpredictable like that.. which is one reason we love it, I guess.

And I don't mind the talent with which Gruden massages our team's balls. Seriously. Brees' sack is so-fresh-and-so-clean this morning, courtesy of Gruden & co.

I think this season was incredibly difficult to get good matchups in any game. Most weeks we were lucky to have two or three good, meaningful games. Of course, plenty of trash games turned out to be crazy entertaining, like any game Painter played in, but they weren't meaningful in any sense of the word. The league was just so bifurcated this year that it was tough to find good games after a few weeks. It was clear the cream of the crop was thin and that the rest of the league was atrocious.

Look back at the year, very few teams aren't who we thought they were after two or three weeks. The only teams that really come to mind are Buffalo, Chicago and the Tebow's.

On Gruden; I'll take intelligent commentary over hyperbolic idiocy any day of the week. Is he funny? Sure. Does he enhance my understanding of the game being played or knowledge of football in any way? Not even a little bit.

Brees claimed after the game he wasn't thinking about the passing record. What a jackass. He must have been incredibly confused when the Saints were still passing up 22 points with less than four minutes to go inside the Falcons ten yard line.

The announcers kept saying that the record wasn't a focus to start the season. I guess that's why they ran up the score on the Colts, Giants, and Vikings amirite?

He said that?

Even the Monday Night crew was saying it was obvious Payton and Brees were gunning for the record.

really wish players would man up and admit they strive for personal accolades.

When? They went on and on how they weren't after it. Even said that Brees claimed if they made a list of 10 things to accomplish during the season that the Marino record wasn't one of them.

It's complete horseshit. Personal accolades are the only reason to run the score up to 62 against Indianapolis. What was it, 62-7? Yeah they needed that extra TD to prevent a potential comeback. :rolleyes

Lions beat GB and the 5th seed is theirs. That would be absolutely huge. They'll be going all out next week. It will be interesting to see if GB plays starters for a while to screw them over or just goes for the full week off.

Jaws said on the final drive (Before the pass to Marques Colston on third down) "It's obvious that Payton and Brees have the record in mind as they're up by 3 scores" or something to that effect. I laughed because usually announcers would rather eat their own shit than admit a player would want to be at all selfish.

Everyone at ESPN was frothing at the mouth in anticipation of the big moment.

Rodgers seems to be gunning for the later, at least he was in post game comments. He said he wanted to see Flynn get the start. Which seems stupid, considering Flynn will simply win the job outright if given the chance.

I hope not. *IF* the Giants make the playoffs I would much rather host the Falcons in the Meadowlands. Let's go Falcons/Boo Detroit.

Which is why nothing about Brees appears in the OP!

I'm honoring Mr. Brees' wishes!
