Guy is a joke. Why should he have the answers? He's the second year QB playing mediocre football on a garbage team. Worry about yourself and let the coach, GM and owner fine the answers. Seriously, I'm not positive he can read but if he can, the only thing he does read is his own headlines from last year.

Panthers announce GM Marty Hurney relieved of duties.
Christian Ponder: 8/17 for 58 yards 1 TD 2 INT QBR: 18.4
John Skelton: 25/36 for 262 yards 1 TD 1 INT QBR: 11.5
Give me a fucking break, ESPN.
Reposted so as not to lose it, because there were a handful of people citing QBR yesterday as though it were somehow relevant in any way.
Don't you joke about that unless it's true.
DON'T EVEN JOKE ABOUT THAT.
Uh yeah. His interception was returned for a touchdown and he had a fumble as well.
Not defending QBR just saying that its pretty easy to explain why Ponder would be credited with a more effective game yesterday than Skelton.

58 yards. 2 picks.
Wow, that didn't take long... I feel bad for Panthers fans, this year has been so disappointing for them and Cam is acting whinier than ever lately.@NFL_ATL

37.5% worse according to ESPN!Yes he was terrible but Skelton really wasn't any better.

Well in that case congratulations!Hurney being fired is the best thing to happen to Carolina since they made it to the Super Bowl. It almost makes this dumpster fire worth it. Almost.

Love this quote from Barry Cofield on Eli after the game yesterday:
“Eli is like Joe Montana right now. He's great. When I was here, he was good, showing flashes. He's exceptional right now. He's got nerves of steel. They never feel like they are out of the game. (They have) so much faith in him, because he rarely lets them down. To beat this team you are going to bury him, then you have to put the dirt on top of him and then put the cement on top of him and then watch it dry. Anything short of that they are still in the game.”
He's got nerves of steel.
It's like Daunte Culpepper never left the NFC North!Further, on 12% of Ponder's passing plays (12%!!!) he turned the ball over. That is insane. Skelton was bad, at 5%, but 12% is ludicrous.
Apparently Bradshaw and Coughlin had an argument over something after the game yesterday but no one will say what it was about.
The secret to QBR seems to be - win.
Fixed.
I said it before that Eli has been the best qb so far this year. I think that is pretty obvious to anyone watching the games to this point. When Eli takes the field late, needing a score to tie or win the game, I fully expect it to happen and am shocked when it doesn't. it's an incredible feeling.
BTW, mistake-laden first half against Temple that gave way to a 3rd quarter curbstomping. That showdown with Cincinnati (who had to go fuck it all up by losing to Toledo) can't come soon enough.
Ben has always played better from behind. Weird but true. He is similar to Eli in that way. Not so similar in being a sexless virgin. After sleeping on yesterday's win..
There's always been one thing I have never liked about Ben Rothlisberger and it has happened every game this season.
Ben always takes his foot off the gas when the Steelers get a lead. Watch for it - Steelers get ahead, the drive immediately after will always stall, and is often a three and out with Ben trying to force something big downfield.
He has done this for years. It's his greatest flaw, and before this season it worked for him because he was sitting on the Steelers defense.
This game would have been another collapse if it was any team but the Bengals. Ben did the same thing here - offense stalled when they got a lead. Only difference is the Bungholes could do nothing with it.
This is where Haley's offense will be beneficial. Ben needs to learn to sustain drives after the lead is gotten. The most important touchdown is the one after you get the lead, and that's the one that Tom Brady and (at one time) Peyton Manning make sure they get.
With that said, Hurney firing timing is really odd. Should have just waited until after the season, or fired the coaching staff along with him. I can't see the new GM wanting to continue with a coaching staff he didn't bring in.

The cameras caught Bradshaw yelling at the RB(?) coach at one point. I just figured he was pissed he got so few touches.
If they have someone in mind then it makes sense. Let them evaluate during this lost season. If they don't hire anyone immediately then it is really, really strange.
Holmgren!

Marty wasn't the reason we are losing! That's bs! Unbelievable! Marty might be the realist GM that I know #InMyMind BS BS BS BS!
The exchange between he and Coughlin was on camera as well. Bradshaw was fired up yesterday. When he broke off that 15 yard run, he turned around and slapped Cruz on the back of the head and damn near gave him a concussion.:jncyankeehater said:The cameras caught Bradshaw yelling at the RB(?) coach at one point. Yesterday was a poor game for him though. Yes, the Eli that wins games showed up at the end to bail the team out again but he did his share to put us in the hole with those two interceptions. The second one was a head scratcher in the mold of 2010 Eli.bionic77 said:I said it before that Eli has been the best qb so far this year.
Blaine Gabbert 8/12 110 yards 1 touchdown
Third best quarterbacking performance in football yesterday. Against the Raiders. lolololololololololol
How can you only throw the ball 12 times in a game?Blaine Gabbert 8/12 110 yards 1 touchdown

Injury? How can you only throw the ball 12 times in a game?
Yeah, I'm curious to see what happens next.
Charles Johnson ain't happy though:
He was hurt for most of the game so he has an excuse. Ponder? Not so much. How can you only throw the ball 12 times in a game?
