Yeah, I never loved the Pagano - Arians hiring for Indy. Didn't seem like particularly compelling candidates, but that was the year of ten million new head coaches to be fair.

It would have been crass as all hell, but it appears the Colts should have kept Arians over Pagano

ATL: podcast was on him about being a great Monday - Saturday coach and a terrible Sunday one. I don't think they're too far off and they were wondering if a defensive coach's job is in jeopardy if the defense never improves despite whatever success they have in a bad division.

I'm sure he's a great guy, I've liked his attitude at practices and the way he tells about his players.

Honestly though, hiring him never made sense to me. We did not have the personnel to be this Jets like team that can Power Run and get stops on defense, and we still don't have that talent on defense. Hiring a defensive minded coach isn't going to instantly give us that. I would have rather we hire a coach that can help develop Luck and the offense. Manning developed the no huddle offense before he got paired with the defensive minded Dungy and was on some pretty shitty teams before that. We didn't really see the payoff of that until the 06 playoffs and a few other instances. I feel like the Pagano hire was some desperate attempt to replicate that.

Should have kept Arians!

It's a miracle the Colts have won as many games as they have the past couple years. They weren't good the last two years despite the record and they aren't that good now.
