Not beating the Rams feels like a loss. I'll take it considering we kept giving them game and they were hell bent on giving it right back. We lose a game like that 98/100 times.
Kap's play was a perfect example of the conundrum we face in playing him. He made plays with his arm and legs that Alex simply can't, and will never be able to make. Ever. So many of the limitations we're used to seeing in our offense with Smith as our QB simply disappear when Kaepernick is at the helm and it is truly beautiful to see. He is however green... as you might expect from a 2nd year QB coming from a shotgun offense. With him we just have to accept the fact that he will experience the inevitable failure which comes with learning [to play the most difficult position in sports].
The argument for Smith is, and has been, that it's better to heir on the side of reliability & experience when you have a team built to win now. As arousing as he was, Kap didn't do enough to swing it in the other direction. Hope Alexander is ok.
