Yeah the NFC is pretty terrible this year. Whoever makes it to the Superbowl is probably going to get massacred by whoever the AFC team is.

It will be a steam rolling of epic proportions whether it be Indy, NE, Balt, or SD. Unless the Bears make it, then it will be a low scoring snoozefest.

no they're not :(

They might not, but the Bucs will get win #4! "Big Ben" will get his head "Kicked In." Wooooo, go Bucs! :lol

I hope Ben has some more 4th quarter heroics against another terrible team (the Bucs) the way he did against Cleveland.

:lol at least you guys can look at your team and have hope for next year. I really don't see the Lions doing anything next year, either, unless they can get a sweet draft pick and sign one of the stud LB FAs this year.

So who else is in the running for top draft pick? Lions are in first, I believe. Oakland might be tied with us, as well as Arizona... then Houston, Tampa, Tennessee? Ugh. Never thought I'd see the day when the Lions are worse than the Texans.

Don't forget Cleveland.

Random thoughts

The NFC hate is silly. 3 of the NFC's best (PHI, SEA, and NYG) have been bombed with injuries to key players this year.

I am completely convinced both Baltimore and San Diego are not going to even get within sniffing distance of the SB.

I am one of the few remaining on the Sexy Rexy truck (actually, it's probably been downgraded to just a scooter at this point). Yes his game was awful against NE, but I really think the horrible game called by Ron Turner really snowballed things more than it should have. The guy (Turner) needs to buy a fuggin' clue and realize we have two awesome backs and an O-line that blocks better for runs than it does pass. YES BUT LET CALL 35 PASSING PLAYS, OF WHICH 20 ARE BOMBS, CAUSE THAT'S WHAT REX CAN DO WITH SHAKEY PROTECTION! What? We ran for over 150 yards agains NE, and our QB is having accuracy issues again? I guess that means we throw more bombs! Asshole ruined the Illini football program, please stop ruining the Bears offense. You're starting to make me long for the Shoop days for crying out loud.

I'm happy to see Ernie Sims is having a big year for the Lions. Ryans, Hawk and Sims are gonna be studs for years to come.

Holy shit, Jonathan Vilma had 169 tackles last year?!

Ben's probably still dizzy from Sunday's game. Cowher should have pulled him in the 4th quarter.

You dirty SOB! :(

Outdoor Miner makes an interesting point, though it's no excuse.

Seattle lost arguably it's two best players. Philly, before the injury to McNabb, had missed starters in their secondary as well as Donte' Stallworth and Kearse is gone. The Giants are dealing with Eli's brain damage. It's tough man.

I'll tell you this much though, Baltimore is my favorite to win the super bowl at the moment. They look ****ing invincible.

Not sure why anyone is picking the Texans over the Raiders. There is no way the Texans win that game. And I am a Texans fan!!!!

CK - I should have taken you up on your trade offer for Eli early in the year.

Well, the Steeler O line will play better simply because they're at home. But, no Hines Ward and no Polamalu. Yikes. Plus, there's not much left to play for for the Steelers while, hey, the Bucs may have a shot at getting in at 8-8!

You should have, but I am glad you didn't.

As far as taking the Texans, no one is watching the Raiders play, so they just assume that it's the same shitty team from the beginning of the year. Aaron Brooks is garbage, but they have gotten tons better on D.

That said, I pick the Texans to win because of the fact that their D seems to be getting a little better too. Though allowing Pennington to pass all over them isn't something to take lightly. But that's what happens when putting 8 in the box.

All I gotta say is **** YOU to Brett Favre. I route for you to do ONE THING, ONE THING, which is beat the Seachickens IN THE MOTHER****IN SNOW, and he can't even ****in do that. **** you Brett, you stupid piece of shit. Isn't snow supposed to be your "scooby snack"? I thought it made you stronger. Someone must have whispered in your ear and told you it was a playoff game, because you sure were in post season form you bastard.

The last few minutes of the game were hilarious.. I got a kick out of Tirico mentioning that Brett was gonna come out slinging and then he threw another pick. Good times.

Aww, don't worry. The whole doom-and-gloom for the Giants is blown way out of proportion IMHO. Yes, losing a 21-point lead to any team in the 4th quarter is bad, but the Giants did it to Philly and Philly wasn't out of the playoff picture (until they lost McNabb :lol). And Tennessee is NOT as bad as everyone thinks they are. They nearly beat Indy, they nearly beat Dallas, and they've beaten other teams that underestimated them (as has happened many times this year among all teams in the league, AFC or NFC). No team, AFC or NFC, is supremely dominant, with the possible exception of the Colts (who will just choke in the playoffs anyway :lol). Any Given Sunday is really applicable this season. For my part, I still think the Giants are in a great position to make the playoffs and go far....now, it would have been nicer to get the division lead maintained, but it's FAR from over...

Unless of course you consider that the Redskins will win out and beat out the Giants for the wild card spot. :D

little bitter about that defeat are we?:lol

That and look around the rest of the NFC....hey we've got Chicago, Rex has another Arizona/Miami performance.....the Giants blow a 21-0 lead with 9:00 left in the 4th quarter to the TITANS!!!......Seattle should be back on track offensively but that doesn't fix their D.....Carolina was supposedly coming back but lay an egg against Portis-less Washington.....my Falcons stunk up the Dome....49ers lost a game that had in hand...the Rams keep going from average to bad and back again....

you get the picture....dare I say the most complete team if the playoffs were to start today from the NFC is the Cowboys....and it really hurts me to say that because I hate them with a passion.

your right, i hate the cowboys too and it stinks cause they are probablly the most complete, dare i say, best team in the NFC right now. I think though that san fran won't be able to contain the firepower of Brees and this offense and the defense seemd to be coming back together enough to make the stops we need to control a game. Payton really has this team playing with a lot of heart and discipline and i think they are gonna suprise some people again and make a strong end of the season run and keep control of the division.

I'll just be happy if our receivers start making plays. Contrary to popular belief, drops are not all our receivers have had problems....getting separation, fighting for the ball, falling down (Lelie seemed to have perfected this during the NO game), coming back towards the ball instead of standing there waiting on it to get to them, etc.

Like I said before, Vick shares some of the blame but the receivers have got to meet him at least halfway. Even the greatest of QB's have been bailed out by great catches from their wide receivers from time to time, ours can't even make the most fundamental ones at this point.

Dude, put down the crack pipe. You're asking for Shoop? Want to switch to Jonathon Quinn and Henry Burris while you're at it? You are INSANE. Turner is one of the best things to happen to Chicago in the past 10 years. Finally, an offense worth watching (although the last few games have been ugly, but don't forget the beginning of the season). Rex had OK protection in the last game. You have to throw the long ball. It stretches the field so the defense can't load up 8 and 9 guys in the box to stop the run. Why do you think it was so successful? I only wish he'd run Benson more and chosen more quick slants. But for chrissakes, don't call for Shoop. Do you even remember the days of the Flanker screen 4x a game?

True...Rams have been decimated by injury! Cut em some slack! The 49ers lost VD! The cardinals....well I got no excuse for them.

I felt compelled to root for the dirty, mother-molesting Packers (a hated division rival that I shall despise until the day that I die), but I have no problem with the Seahawks.

Oh shit, you're right. I'm an idiot! :lol I was confusing them with Jacksonville vs. Dallas (which I also forgot that Jacksonville won!). Still though, my point stands about the Titans not being as bad as people think they are.

Uh, Turner called a really shitty game against NE. Yes he's better than Schoop, but that's not saying much.
~2 minutes left, the first thing Turner does is call a bomb when Rex has shown his deep ball is off. Yes we need to throw it deep, but Rex continually throws it deep into double and triple coverage. That's not stretching the field, that's being retarded.

I'm still all about Grossman starting, and Turner isn't THAT bad, but he did call a horrible game this past week. He simply needs to run the ball more. We can be effective both running and passing, but we need to start with the run. I think it's been proven up to this point that against a decent defense, Rex simply can't carry the team. Against shitty defenses, yeah, he can light them up. Against aggressive and physical D's, we need to start around the run.

At least we're at home against Minnesota this week. We should continue on the road to home field.

The Raiders offense hasn't scored in the the second half multiple times this year.
