For a guy who was drafted 3rd overall 5 years ago, his numbers aren't terribly impressive. You get the sense at points this season that THIS IS THE YEAR where he finally proves himself, but ultimately he's inconsistent and that's harder to forgive when his defensive game isn't all there.

literally every printer I had ever had the pleasure of working with has been a piece of shit.
I mean, his PPG has increased every year in the league and he did score 30 last year. He had a 60 or so game stretch end of last year til the injury this year where he was super consistent and played at a point per game pace (and to start this season, he had 23 points in 25 games and scored a point in 19 of those 25 games), but barring that stretch, yes, consistency has been a problem for his whole career. He can look and produce at an elite level for 10 games, then he falls off into the ether for 10 games.
Last night he looked bad on the game winner.
I don't have a problem with bumping him down the lineup, but moving him to the wing seems pointless. He's not a winger.
He was top 10 in scoring before his knee injury which caused him to miss 6 weeks and are notorious for being difficult to recover from, and then had 10 points in an eleven game stretch since the coaching change. The last 3 games he's been held pointless, while both Patcioretty and Radulov have no goals either, and only 1 point between them, but yes, Galchenyuk is the problem here, and a Canucks fan really adds some insightful analysis

I mean his production is at the very least where you'd want it to be for where he was drafted. Similar to Drouin and Huberdeau, neither of which are considered elite but occasionally produce at elite levels as well.

C'mon, Red. I've been (and shall remain eternally) the biggest drinker of AGally koolaid since June 2012. I love the kid and think he does have the skill to be a top 20 forward in the NHL. And hell, he has factually proven that with how he ended last season and started this one. I'm his biggest fan and the jersey he signed for me and my GF hangs proudly over my office desk.
But he does have issues in his game. He's a defensive liability and he struggles with consistency. Faceoffs are problematic too, but that's something that can be addressed. And I also want to see him next season after a full off-season to truly heal his knee. I think that alone will make a big difference.
Consistency, if he can find it, or lack thereof, is the difference between being a good NHLer (which he already is) and a great one (which he could be).

I'm so-so on it, but I've had Passionfruit on repeat since Sunday. So good.
He definitely has areas of his game that need to improve, and last night was one of his worst games of the year, but putting him on wing isn't going to help. At least bump him down a line or two but keep him at C, the scapegoating happening to him is ridiculous though. Radulov was terrible last night too, plenty of forced passes, bad giveaways, and Patches was barely noticeable but no one is focused on them. I just think he's an easy scapegoat.
This one is easily the worst one Ive ever dealt with. Any time I hear it start up for a fax I know im going to have to go over and yank out the 15 pages of paper that it randomly decides to try and force through.
Maybe Galchenyuk is why they don't have any points? 😂😂😂😂😂
Taking it like a pro. And when you think of it, Shaw and Lehkonen are 2 of the few guys getting it going lately, so this could actually be a solid way to jumpstart AAGally. He'll turn it around. He's too talented not to.
Oh I know. I'm not mad or anything. I've been lucky enough to see those 4 Cups and have great memories of all of them. I knew it couldn't last forever. It's finally time to really hand the reins over to the young players and see what they can do. Zetterberg and Kronwall are really the last of the old guard and they're about done. Howard seems to have found his game again, so if he can stay healthy I think the Wings will be at least 25% better next season.
It gets even better when you get rid of that shit but still need to occasionally fax something so you use a software fax appliance which has all annoying 1970's tech limitations of faxing along with some new headaches. I need to scan this fucking piece of paper to email it to myself so I can fax it somewhere? AND the scanner I use is a giant useless fucking printer that CAN FAX SHIT but we got rid of the fax line years ago to save a few bucks a month? Fantastic!
But can some of the Atlantic become 25% worse? For all the bitching here about Ottawa and their manager somehow they are this close to taking the division. Montreal has Price. Toronto has it made. So wild card hopes if Stamkos is injured again and again?
My scanner is about the only thing in my office that works well. Even I barely work.

Eric Fehr making his Leafs debut tonight for Soshnikov. Personally I think it's only Fehr that Leivo gets to play but whatever. He doesn't kill penalties and Babcock is crazy about having his 4th liners kill penalties.

If it's Leafs vs Sens what's the over/under on the first ban? I really doubt we'd get through game 1 before someone gets a GAFcation.
I'll volunteer to step in for Cookie when he gets banned early. I can't hope to replace the sheer volume of salt and truculence he brings to the team, but I'll stick to my game and hope the rest of the guys in the room come together and chip in.

Maybe it's just me but I am barely watching Hockey on the weekend this season, don't mind weekdays but weekends I rather spend time doing something else. Maybe it will change in the playoffs.
