Any news on the line up tonight? I'm assuming the top line will start as normal, and hopefully Beaulieu is with Weber again, he had a fantastic game last night and will be needed against Tampa's speed.

Beaulieu fucked up one game, so he's in purgatory for the next 5 months. Michel. Therrien.

Leafs were sent to the bottom of the list when they claimed whatshisface

Damn I didn't know that.

It was Seth "Maple Leafs fan growing up" Griffith

I just looked this up, and that's not necessarily the case. Unless things have changed since the 2012 lockout, this is a pretty detailed article.

If more than one team puts in a claim on a player during the waiver period, then the team with the higher waiver priority's claim is accepted.

If the claim is before November 1, waiver priority is based on the previous year's standings, with the team with the worst record having first priority and the team with the best record having last priority.

If the claim is after November 1, waiver priority is based on the current year's standings, defined as the lowest percentage of possible points.

Does a team's waiver priority stay intact for the duration of a season, regardless of whether or not it has claimed a player?

I just took a quick look at the CBA and if 2+ teams claim 1 player the first tiebreaker is standings, then ROW, then H2H, then goal differential. It doesn't say anything about priority like yahoo or restricting the number of claims, as far as I can see.

13.19 on page 81, it's a pretty nasty block of text lol.

Pavel Buchnevich will return to the lineup tomorrow night. Chris Kreider is skating on his own and getting closer. Henrik Lundqvist gets the start again tomorrow. I thought the idea was to use him less this year?

Josh Jooris will be out 3-4 weeks.

When McIlrath clears or gets claimed, the Rangers should have somewhere in the ballpark of $3m of cap space. Very unusual for this team.

Damn once again it really does pay to be the shittiest. I could have sworn after claiming a player you lose priority, but it looks like there's no limit (until Nov 1 of course)

Can't claim and send them down.

Actually they can since they were the original team that waived him:

13.22 When a Club claims a Player on Regular or Unconditional Waivers, and, subsequently, in the same season it requests Waivers on the same Player and the original owning Club is the successful and only Club making a Waiver claim, then the original owning Club shall be entitled to Loan such Player to a club in another league within thirty days without further Waivers being asked; provided that such Player has not participated in ten or more NHL Games (cumulative) and remained on an NHL roster more than thirty days (cumulative) following such successful claim

When's Despres coming back?

He's probably going to take the year off. When he saw multiple specialists and got put on LTIR afterwards, seems like he's going to take a long time off if not retire.

edit: Just read that Despres still had symptoms but told the doctors that he felt fine so he can play in the playoffs.

Bob Murray just quoted as saying it's a sensitive subject and he hopes Despres can live a happy healthy life.

I think his career may be in jeopardy
:(
