Ok, I did not need to read that
Some people just need to stay off the internet and go for a fucking walk or drive though the country.
go for a fucking walk
Jesus you all are so sick
I think there might be a bit of a difference between paying out of your own pocket to remove a couple of unimportant ribs and defrauding an insurance company to disable yourself, no?All the finger wagging disapproval over this, and yet it was cool when Prince had his procedure because wanted to suck himself off. Hypocrisy at it best.

One of the craziest aspects of this story was that this guy was seen as a hero ...
... and was on a shortlist to be sent into space as the first disabled astronaut....

Surgeon amputee from Truro shortlisted for astronaut job
Neil Hopper defied expectations by returning to work and was shortlisted for a space mission.www.bbc.com
A surgeon specialising in amputation, who lost both legs to sepsis, has made it to the shortlist to become an astronaut.
Neil Hopper, consultant vascular surgeon at the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust, defied advice and expectations by successfully returning to work.
He made the European Space Agency's shortlist for a para-astronaut but was then eliminated from the process.
He said: "I got far enough to start worrying that I might get through."
"The criteria were quite specific, you had to have a doctorate in engineering or medicine, you had to have a disability below the knee, and you had to speak a second language - hey, Welsh."
Mr Hopper said his wife Rachel thought he was "completely crazy".
He travelled to Hamburg to take part in the selection process which involved medical, personality, psychometric and memory tests.
He said: "I made it reasonably far through the programme but I didn't get selected in the end."
Mr Hopper has told his story, which includes a gruelling recovery and a return to helping patients with a new perspective, for a Welsh BBC documentary.
In the documentary, he explains how he had performed hundreds of amputations during his career when he lost both his legs to sepsis in 2019.
He added: "I remember imagining the operation - operations which I do all the time, and thinking that power tools were going to be used on me. That was really difficult to process."
In hospital for seven weeks, Mr Hopper said the physical changes were "fairly easy to understand", while the psychological changes and "fitting back into family life" were harder to grasp.
But with prosthetic legs came a glimmer of hope.
He added: "I was starting to think I'd never be able to go back to work, I'd never be able to play football with my son, walk the dog on the beach - that's the kind of mindset I had.
"But once I got legs, things started to change overnight, the future didn't look so bleak."
On reflection, he believes his experience and ability to relate to patients has made him a "better doctor", facilitating improvements to services throughout Devon and Cornwall.
The surgeon had been advised to reconsider his career, but he said: "I was determined to go back to work.
"I wanted to prove that they were completely wrong."

This guy still has his Youtube channel showing his recovery process (after willingly causing both his legs to be amputated).
Absolutely sick.
BTW I understand from the BBC article that this guy was married and had one or more children. It must be gruesome for his wife and children to support a husband/dad for years after he lost both his legs and then find out he lied to them for years and the whole traumatic ordeal for them was just a completely fucked up sexual fantasy to him.
The article is so much worse than the headline.BTW Neil Hopper got found out because of his connection with Marius Gustavson, the man behind the Eunuch Maker website.

The savings on shoes though![]()
It really did cost an arm and a leg.The raising price of eggs really did a number on some people uh?
The guys legs weren't fine; he deliberately froze his legs with dry ice to ensure his legs legitimately required amputation. The surgeon who wilfully amputated this guy's perfectly fine legs should go to jail too.
did he wear a mask during the surgeries? someone plz confirm.

Wait..
I..
But..
How does..
Too, many questions!!
Alright alright..
The guys legs weren't fine; he deliberately froze his legs with dry ice to ensure his legs legitimately required amputation.
The guy essentially got done for insurance fraud as he claimed his legs were amputated due to them being septic; the insurance company who paid out the insurance eventually found out the reason for the amputation was actually due to self inflicted injuries, not an actual case of sepsis.
This is a really interesting story, not just because the guy is a weird freak and it makes me think about how our society went astray. But because he got in trouble for defrauding an insurance company. If he just decided to payout of pocket, and if he found a doctor willing to do it (sadly, probably not that hard), there would be no problem.
Maybe if he identified as a mollusk it would have been done for free.was there a way for him to do it without the fraud?
"Neil Hopper"
Should've only had one removed![]()
I'm confused. It sounds like he necrosed his legs by freezing them, thereby needing bilat amputation to stay alive. I feel the insurance company should have to cover for life saving surgery regardless of what caused his necrosis? Clearly the guy is mentally deranged...This is a really interesting story, not just because the guy is a weird freak and it makes me think about how our society went astray. While doing this he continued to message Gustavson, telling him: "It's going to be awesome being a double amputee."
Days later he was found unwell and taken to hospital, telling doctors who treated him for sepsis that he had been unwell with diarrhoea and vomiting. His feet were amputated on 10 May, before surgeons carried out a further operation to remove his legs below the knees a week later.
He later took a photo of his bandaged feet and sent it to Gustavson with the message: "It feels so cool. No feet!"
If I freeze my legs, like I get trapped outside in the snow, and I need to get amputation, then yea that's covered. But not if I freeze my legs so they get amputated to satisfy some weird fetish. He lied and claimed it was medically necessary and justified it by hurting himself. That is fraud. The insurance company is in the right to try to get the money back. It's like setting your house on fire to collect the insurance. Yes your policy covers a loss in case of fire, but not if you start the fire.I'm confused. The insurance company is essentially saying Fuck him, He did this, let him die ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Edit: never mind it looks like they gave him a check for half a million pounds? I don't understand why though
I mean, that makes sense, but I feel like we can all make sense of someone trying to burn their house down in order to collect a payout... But burning your legs off so you can say "How cool is this? Look! No feet!" just seems like a totally different wheelhouseIf I freeze my legs, like I get trapped outside in the snow, and I need to get amputation, then yea that's covered.
