Ni No Kuni II Official Nintendo Switch Announcement 9/17

I bought this game for the PS4 on the assumption that this would have about the same quality as the first game.

I couldn't play this game past the 4-5 hour mark. It's so childish... everything in the game is so nonsensically childish..

The first game is substantially more endearing and enjoyable than the second. Cosigned with the "childish" comments (not in terms of subject matter but in terms of pacing and mechanical complexity); the game takes forever to open up in earnest, and it loses so much of the magic of the original. Without Ghibli, the unique flavor is watered down substantially.

Main Character design in 2 is much less appealing to me so that was always a big turn off.

Otherwise I'd be into this.

I mean both of them were pretty childish but the first game was of much better quality and the characters/story was much better. I preffered the pokemon like collecting too.

I liked the first one so much better, especially with the wizard's companion. The second one lacks alot of soul the ending was a complete joke, i had the feeling they were just ending it.. like: and then this, and then that.. i dunno.. just play the first one, the combat was kinda ok in the second one if you don't like turn based...

I liked this game better. The first game was more of an experience of "wow, playable Ghibli film!" The second one to me was much better at actually being a game.

Bought the game on Steam at launch. Played roughly ten hours of it.
One of my most regretted purchases ever. What a stinking pile of shit under that misleading cute aesthetic.

The second one wasn't that bad and I enjoyed it for what it was - however it definitely pales compared to the first one. Biggest problem for me is that the game just wasn't difficult. I think they added a difficulty slider but I doubt that added more than damage sponge.

Wow , 2 years + too late... Decent game but not nearly as good as the first. Last half of the game is just a grind.
