I preordered this game. Would be hilarious if this sell better here than in Japan.
Not really hard for that to happen. lol But would be funny nonetheless.

Can I still preorder Gamestop steel case version?
They did push this game really hard here. There is a lot of signs up at my local Gamestop for Ni No Kuni too and they mentioned something about probably not having enough steel cases to cover all the preorders.
I just hope they push Xillia hard like they're doing with this.

What were some of the reasons for the average score in Game Informer?
am i the only one who pre ordered the collectors edition AND is purchasing the regular edition? i'm keeping the CE sealed
Anyone else get anything from Bandai about the game being shipped for those that pre-ordered the wizards edition?
Nope
Nope
I tried to look up my order on the store but it wasn't showing up =/
Does it give you an error when you try to look it up? It shows my order, but I can't view the invoice or any of the details.

For future reference to anyone who wants to see their invoice, do not use the NamcoBandai site. Use Digital River's Findmyorder.com site. It's really dumb but their shop is really badly made, lol.

You're getting the game? Yay
Damnit, Amazon. I ordered the strategy guide back when it had "Get on on release day!" delivery, but they haven't shipped it yet. Between this and the WE saying it won't ship until after the release day of 1/22, I'm kind of miffed. I know, I know...EU people, I now know your plight.
My experience with Amazon has usually been that if it seems like they're cutting it close on when they should ship it, they usually make up for it by using a faster shipping method. The only time I had anything come late was like a week or two ago when I ordered a school book and the weather was really bad.
couldn't wait for this game!
they said they made a new game for Western audiences who don't like playing as kids.
Major criticisms were things like "old school RPG mechanics", "cheap boss battles", story/characters not as polished as the world, not enough save points (in dungeons since you can save everywhere except dungeons), limited time to choose 'Defend/Evade' in battle, and forced random encounters. The latter of which was weird since after a certain level the monsters RUN AWAY FROM YOU but until you get to that level, they chase you, obviously, just like in most RPGs where you have encounters that occur in the same manner where they detect you and run after your character.
It seems to me like the gripes were mainly because the game was 'hard'.
...and even then it feels like a lot of reviewers are semi-rushing to meet deadline so they aren't doing side missions causing parts of the game to be harder than they would be if they did some form of grinding. We'll see just how true that is once I get the game. haha

Admittedly I would consider a mandatory grind a flaw, but that really depends on how much is needed and if there's supposed to be a natural way around that if you don't rush, IE just exploring to see where you can go in Dragon Quest, or sidequests in games like Xenoblade.
Yeah, there's probably sidequests, or at least monster recruiting that'll do it, or at least grinding for recipe ingredients so you at least have more of a purpose in grinding.Sounds like they'd complain if it was forced grinding. Sounds like the game is just harder if you rush, but doesn't sound like it prohibits rushing through.

I was able to look up my order as well as the invoice through Namco's store.Does it give you an error when you try to look it up? It shows my order, but I can't view the invoice or any of the details.
So close!! I have been dying to play another great jrpg since xenoblade, I need this game in my veins.
