Nightingale is a new shared world survival crafting and building game coming to PC Early Access in 2022.

Explore, discover and survive in an interconnected web of beautiful, mystical, and dangerous realms.

Immerse yourself in a new Victorian gaslamp fantasy universe, where you'll build estates and homesteads, band together with other survivors, and fight nightmarish creatures as you search for a way home.

Announced at the 2021 Game Awards, Nightingale is being developed by Inflexion Games in Edmonton Canada.

Basically victorian Sliders, I like the setting, but hate the genre (the building and crafting crap is such a missed opportunity).

It seems to be more than the standard survival game hopefuly they pull it off.

"In our trailer, there's a really nice moment in there that's meant to show the dichotomy the world will present - where a giant is bending down to receive an offering from players. That's one way you can solve that encounter. A bit later in the trailer, there's a bunch of Realmwalkers in combat with the giant - and the giant is rampaging through the community they built. That's another way to try to solve it. Each challenge has different outcomes and each decision has different consequences."

Resources gained on adventures can be poured back into upgrading your character, or into building bases across various maps and terrains, with estates and farms. You can play solo or with others (though there's no word yet on team or party sizes) and there's no PVP. NPCs will be present, but it doesn't sound like they will be fighting alongside you. Instead, you'll talk with them for story and quests.

Survival, crafting, building. When those are the first few words and not, action, fps, or the like, I already know it's not for me.

Cool premise and I like the monster designs though. Too bad, just like all these games, the combat will be barely serviceable and the main gameplay revolves around scavenging for resources and building barbie dreamhomes.

The Fae Realms of Nightingale are alive with monstrous beasts, magickal creatures, and threats of which you cannot conceive. Who better than you, Realmwalker, to survive the challenges ahead? Save yourself, survive the realms, and rebuild the world.

people who played it early have any impressions? To me the game looks interesting but the combat looks like SHIT. They need some big animation changes and weight in melee

I am keen on this but it's just not coming at a good time.

Plus it had a really bad stress test which didn't sell the game well. So I hope my issues with it's progression and on boarding were just because it was a stress test and nothing else
