Hmm, I've been looking forward to NG4 but that trailer didn't do much for me if I'm honest. Just looked like declarative bosses "the very fiend" "you insect!" fighting in empty dark midnight blue arenas. Was hoping for more personally.
Story and Ninja Gaiden in the same sentence doesn't really compute for me. I've put hundreds of hours into these games and I can barely remember what they were about.
It's purely about the combat puzzle. It's about that feeling of being a ballet of blades and stringing combos together from one enemy to the next while dodging and blocking their attacks as effectively as possible. It's about that "flow state" of maximizing efficiency and creating the cleanest, fastest run you can for each level. I have frequently played these games on mute while listening to music or a podcast.
So many games coming out in the next 2 months I am interested in. Not sure how much I am actually going to buy
BF6 ( already preordered )
COD ( Maybe, mostly il skip because of BF6 but who knows. I keep saying that every year and like an idiot I keep buying them yearly )
Project Motor Racing
Ninja Gaiden 4

I love NGB and I have no clue what that game is even supposed to be about other than random mystical shit and avenging cos mad. Just don't interrupt me with shitty cutscenes like Nu Doom.
I actually love game stories and play lots of games for the plots.
But NG has always had basically no discernible plot at all.
Even when you're trying to follow it, it's just a stream of words on screen about super ninja, and uber fiend, and then "now go here and fuck shit up..."
I watched the IGN interview with gameplay today for the most part.
What difficulty is this I wonder? Must be normal or easy. Enemies are not aggressive in the slightest.
Master ninja is fucking abysmal ass blasting where no enemies leave your cheeks alone for a milisecond. If you aren't attacking you're dying.
That said even hard mode on ninja gaiden generally has enemies being aggressive and landing hits. Seemed strange in this footage that he basically takes no damage. Clearly a good player, but the amount of tools at your disposal allows you to constantly destroy anus, but I saw a few moments of enemies just standing around mindlessly without even trying to attack the player when there is a clear window for them to do so.
I'll judge the full product based off of hard mode and master ninja though. Rest is throwaway nonsense.
