Wow the negativity is staggering. Did anyone notice them showing some really great-looking games? And not doing any stupid shit in between (except that threediots thing). Some good demonstrations of games that look fun and are coming out soon. Lots of them! You guys are acting like the 3DS has a game drought.

Now everyone has to cry over what wasn't shown? Why? Maybe it's because I didn't come in expecting things that this really wasn't a bad show for me.

Their first conference was awful. Then they revealed nothing new at the roundtable. If Nintendo had any positive goodwill coming out of those, this 3DS conference wouldn't have been received so negatively.

But they didn't have goodwill, and they didn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. Also, there was a pretty important 3DS game (to a lot of us) that simply needed acknowledgment that it was coming. Which of course we got three minutes after the conference for no explicable reason.

I'll admit the first was awful and that this could have shown more and should have announced FE. But I'm not so upset after the first that I can't see this for what it is. And that's a display of an array of titles for the 3DS that I'm looking forward to. But that's just my view.

Through the smoke a column raises up through the floor to reveal Non-Specific Action Figure who just stands there in silence for a hour. The column goes back down and Reggie thanks him for a wonderful show.

Do you think E3 actually means anything anymore? 3DS has a healthy line up of Mario titles and 3rd party games and that's plenty of momentum for now.

We all would have loved to see more unannounced games but E3 isn't really the place to do that anymore. Everybody prefers to save the big reveals for their own events.

Ok, they're sometimes announcing a game here and here at a Nintendo Direct like NSMB2, but not a list of games like at E3 2010. I never saw Nintendo announcing a new first party game at TGS. Nintendo made me less confident in the future of the 3DS than before E3. We only have 4 "big" Nintendo games coming for the next 6 months+? What's coming in Q1-Q2 2013? Do we have to wait E3 2013 to know the answer? 0 new 3DS Nintendo games were shown. That's worrying. When you're only showing again games we already knew about 2 years ago, I think there's a problem.

What does this even mean? Do you think these games are all Nintendo has in development? E3 is not special any more, games like Fire Emblem, Monster Hunter 4, NSMB2 were all announced at non-E3 events.

So I still stand by my prediction that Zelda will be announced at GDC like PHantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks before it.

On the bright side at least games they've announced are still around. Poor Sony fans are still grieving on the Last Guardian.

They just talked about the games they showed on tuesday and then showed some footage of stuff like Epic Mickey 3DS,Kingdom Hearts and such.

Only real news is confirmation of Fire Emblem and that came from Reggie being caught off guard

A couple of eShop Pokemon apps.

I hope this isn't coming from seeing that fan-made trailer. It was an obvious fake.

Also, Nintendo said the next 3DS Zelda would be original. So yeah I wouldn't expect a Majora's Mask remake anytime soon.



Nintendo handhelds never get great western support unfortunately.

Nintendo only shows games coming out in the immediate future. (For Nintendo) E3 is all about games in between now and the end of the year.

2013 games will either be revealed by Nintendo at a later date (near the end of the year), or by a third party in a news article.
Its been like that for awhile now.


Castlevania, Luigi, NSMB 2, Paper Mario, Kingdom Hearts, Pokemon, Epic Mickey, Lego Batman, Scribblenaughts... they may not be to your tastes, but thats still some quality games right there for this year.


I would love to know if a Metroid game or some cool IP is coming for the 3DS, but at the same time I dont want to wait 3 years to get it. Ive been burnt on The Last Guardian, Metal gear Rising and FF Versus so reveal your game when its f****ng close to being done.

That guy who did the writing for the English versions of the Paper Mario games was very naturally spoken and generally did a fine job of speaking. They really should have people like him doing the presentations since he's obviously more comfortable and familiar with the games themselvs. I never once got the sense that Moffitt actually plays video games, just going by the bullshit that kept coming out of his mouth. He seems like a nice enough guy, but I've always thought that the developers should be the ones doing the presenting, assuming they're comfortable enough doing it.
