JC10001: a fanboy

Well isn't that the pot calling the kettle black? Prove it. I was merely stating the obvious. The fact is, I'm sick and tired of you, and others like you, posting totally useless and/or negative comments over and over again for no reason whatsoever. From now on, everytime I see you troll I am going to call you out on it.

Ohhhh the Nnintendo fanboy police! Holy shit, I'm scared now! It's always the same damn thing with a Nintendo fanboy. Don't like an opinion or comment, they attack the person. Not like I'm surprised or anything, just pointing it out. My post in here about Nintendo "sleeping" was a post in jest. Mocking the title of the thread in good fun. It surprises me not a Nintendo fanboy (a fact proven by the fact that you took it personal) such as yourself, would take it so serious and feel the need to blow it out of proportion and attack the person who said it. Learn to take a fucking joke and learn you are not Nintendo.

You want to continue this further I suggest you take to to PM, where I would be more than happy to listen to your tripe in private. Instead of sidetracking a thread.

I find it positively funny that from time to time, you see someone make a post as the one shpankey did with few, select words that add absolutely nothing to the discussion. Then once someone questions them on it, you see them type a response that shows they have the capacity to think and type out their thoughts.

C'est la vie.

Nintendo is not a sleeping dragon. They're doing their own thing, which is basically making lots of money. If that means some day they drop hardware production, who cares? Its the games people love from Nintendo, not the hardware. It's never been about the hardware really.

Well, gotta disagree there. Miyamoto himself has always had a hand in the hardware and it shows. Especially in the controller department. I would like to see Nintendo stay in hardware. They have always had the quickest load times, speed is important to them - as it is to me.

I hope they stay in hardware for a very long time and keep pumping out the gems they make.

Your post history suggests otherwise.

Responding to an allegation != taking it personally. It's nothing personal. I simply enjoy visiting this board and I hate seeing people like you drag it down down to Gamefaqs levels. The fact is, had your response come from just about anyone else I wouldn't have said anything but you've trolled time and time again. Enough is enough. There's nothing wrong with having an opinion but there are more civilized/adult ways to express them. There are plenty of companies or games that I don't like but you rarely, if ever, see me post about them. Why? Because I really don't think people want to hear about them. I find that this board is a much better place when people focus on what they like instead of constantly bitching about or ragging on one game/company or another and I'm sure that many other people feel the way I do.

There's no need for that. I'm done if you are.

Nintendo will never be willing to do what it takes to become the console market leader.
Nevermind whether it will be willing to do it. Do you think it has what it takes to do it?

Here's a summary of the last 5 questions of the week at IGNCube and all future questions of the week:

IGNCube: Why do you suck?

Nintendo Spokesperson: We don't suck.

If you ask me,Nintendo is no longer a innovator and that title went to Sony and they're proving it every step of the way;even when came down to the portable.

Care to explain how Sony is an innovator? How is the PSP innovative? How is any of the current hardware innovative?

I've always maintained that if all we're going to get next gen is better graphics, then I'd rather the games be made for the current systems. I want something new, something truly fresh. I hate handhelds, but I actually hoped that the DS might actually bring some new ideas to the table. Well, I know it's still early, but I just don't seriously see how having a map displayed on one of the two screens is innovative.

Is Nintendo a sleeping dragon? Maybe. I think the real problem with Nintendo is that it listened to its fans a little too much. Fans complained about the constant delays during the N64 days. Nintendo rectified this, but most of the games feel unpolished and not as good as their N64 counterparts. Fans constantly berated Nintendo for being reactionary, so instead of reacting to the PSP, they continued down their course with the DS. The needed to react to the PSP. They needed the next true GB that was on the level of the PSP. So what if they launched it 3-4 months after the PSP, as long as they delivered a better product, they would have retained their market. The list goes on and on.

I'm a Nintendo fan, and yet I cannot justify the mistakes it has made. The only respite I see in them, is that the Revolution and GBANext gives Iwata the chance to shine. For the first time since taking the reigns, he'll be sharing his vision for Nintendo's future. He certainly has rebuilt burned bridges with third-party developers/publishers, so I hope that that will come into play with the Revolution.

Time will tell...

That willingness is part of what it takes to be a leader. If they lack that, then no, they don't have what it takes, by definition.

Personally, I doubt we'll see a return to the days when Nintendo ruled the marketplace. They've carved out a safe, profitable market niche for themselves, and they seem willing to remain there as long as they can keep turning a profit (which may well be indefinitely). It wouldn't surprise me at all if ten years from now, Nintendo was in the exact same position they are today--last place, but still profitable, making money on quirky first-party software and the equally-quirky proprietary hardware designed to run it.

missAran's topics:

Did Rare's departure hurt Nintendo?
DS moving in the right direction?
Who wants Nintendo to fail?
Nintendo's direction flawed?
Is Nintendo's "hype machine" working?
A Nintendo drama queen's bid for the GAF Oscar (changed from something else).
Nintendo: a sleeping dragon?

These are half the topics he's ever made, and they're pretty much the same one.

Matt: Ok now, so... is Nintendo more like a bunny? A cute lil sleepy bunny?

Reggie: Yes Casserole, Nintendo is like a cute bunny... but also horny. And cute.

There is no burden on anyone. When you have $7.42 billion in the bank and that will rise to $10 billion by 2010 ... you have no real burden on your shoulders at all.

The worst case scenario is they end up dropping hardware. So what? You still will get the Nintendo games you love, those games will still make money for Nintendo, and they'll probably just make another huge fortune off the anime market to boot.

You have to understand one thing -- even the Seattle Mariners *always* make a profit, and that's in the MLB, where a ton of teams post huge losses year in, year out.

Nintendo will be making Mario/Zelda stuff probably when guys like us are in their 60s/70s/and 80s with grandchildren (much like Walt Disney still makes cartoons today).

Think about that next time you're really stressed about the so-called "problems" this company has.

This is an incredibly successful company that has a knack for making money in a variety of different conditions.

Problem with your post is that eventhough it's 100% true, it's also very boring. People want instant results. People either want Nintendo to be #1 or out of business... it's just more exciting that way. :\

Good post though and I agree. :)

how the hell is nintendo sleeping? they just launched new hardware and are going to launch new hardware again at the same time as their rivals.

Nintendo: Not as many people like them anymore but they are still wildly profitable.

Would have been a better statement.
