Nintendo Downloads - October 2013

Oh wow, I haven't played Revenge of the Gator since 93 or 94, probably. That's a cool addition to the lineup for me. :)

Sooo... still no demo for Sonic Lost World in Europe (it's not mentionned on the official website). What the hell is Sega playing at?

at least on PAL eshop, Steamworld Dig will have a -20% discount for some days, to celebrate the First position on all the eshop markets (US, PAL ans AUS. not yet available in Japan)

it should cost 7 € more or less, and not 8.99€

Its making me think the game is kind of bad if no demo was put up. Or perhaps NOA is falling asleep at the wheel...

Sega's given enough previews of the game that they seem to be confident in it. Please, I'm sure you can seek out impressions of the Japanese demo pretty easily. Just because Japan got a demo doesn't mean we are guaranteed to get one. Or did they say one was coming?

I can certainly appreciate your hesitation, but I've heard enough good stuff about the game that I'll jump in. Though it doesn't hurt that I'll be getting it for $40 :p

just bought it for 7.19 €. Hope it's as good as it looks

Check this video. The Japanese demo can be played in either :

- Japanese
- English
- French
- Italian
- German
- Spanish

So yeah, the demo is already translated and everything (just like the actual game). Therefore, there's no reason for the demo NOT to be available anywhere else... especially since the Japanese launch won't happen before next week. So yup, doesn't make any sense.

I doubt that's a factor, though. They may have research that shows demos are less effective in NA. Or that it's better to put out demos the week the game comes out. Or something. I won't pretend to know how these companies work, nor do I think there shouldn't be a demo out right now.

Is the soon-to-be-removed from VC Yoshi's Cookie worth getting? I never played it, I have 1400 shop channel points just sitting around and wouldn't mind having another OG puzzler.

Capcom on the Mega Man GB(C) games:

These are just a handful of titles in Nintendo's busy Virtual Console schedule. There are new titles releasing each week so that means a bit of a bottleneck. We basically announced these games as soon as it was possible to do so, which means anything already in the pipeline is ahead of all six Mega Man Game Boy titles.

from Nintendolife.

How I'd love to see that "busy" VC schedule.

Really hope we start getting more of the GB Mega Man games, especially since Japan got MM III on their eShop last week.

I just bought it and played it for a bit. I think it's really fun. Not sure why I never felt this way with the original SNES version when I used to own it, but the NES game is a solid puzzle game and it's a shame that it'll be taken down. I'd recommend it if you like puzzle games!

Wow didnt know it was translated, WiiU barely has any demos as it is and plus you have play time limit there is no reason for this demo to not come to NA/Europe.

Great, thanks!

You should know by now that the eShop updates every Thursday at 3pm in .

Well, I thought the promo was already effective from the week before, ence why my wording was more on the "don't tell me I've missed it" side instead of "why is it not there yet?".

I was too busy playing Pokemon to notice that Revenge of the Gator came out today.

Awesome. Great little pinball game.

I wish the eShop would accept my visa debit card like most other sites. I want to pick up MSF2, but I have to wait to buy a point card now.

I use a Visa debit card as well & it works fine for me. I usually would just buy a game with exact change/add the exact amount needed. Wonder why it won't work for you.

Not sure where else to post this, but A Link Between Worlds now has its own page on the eShop and through there it says the game supports StreetPass. That's never been discussed before, right?

Looks like your post was totally ignored. I don't know about any StreetPass feature for Zelda, I don't they've discussed it. What really interests me if the Nintendo Network Logo... do we know why?

It'll probably be like Pokemon. 1 rupee for every streetpass (what gets me is Fire Emblem seems to generate teams if you get Mii plaza hits, Pokemon could have done the same)

Huh? What's that about StreetPass and Pokémon? I have to admit, the only time of the year I get any StreetPass hits is at E3, so I got no idea what it does in Pokémon X and Y...

Revenge of the Gator is still fun, but maybe you had to be there at the time? I could see someone new to the game thinking it is a little lacking in content. But I'm loving it, blast from my past.

As for the other VC stuff, I'm no businessman or game designer, but why is it that it's a trickle? Why is it one game per week, or not even every week? It can't be that they're worried about cannibalizing sales by releasing two at the same time or more, can it?

The explanation from Nintendo is that each game has to be individually adapted for VC. It is not a simple emulator that Nintendo just drops games into and can release. What has never been explained is actually how much work is involved is putting a game on VC. It could be a week of work for a team or a month, nobody knows.

That is the same reason that getting more advanced games, like the N64 or T16, is difficult on the Wii U. The assumption is that it is even more difficult than for the 3DS because it has to work on the controller screen.

Just note, this is mostly speculation gleaned from the bits of information that has come out of Nintendo.

I don't believe so, and there's even some supporting evidence suggesting the game doesn't support Nintendo Network at all.

- Said eShop page doesn't include keywords like DLC, Local Play, or Nintendo Network, also says it's a single player game
- Official NOA game page uses a boxart without the cover, also says it's single player only
- UK retailer GAME revealed a special bundle of the game and the cover they use doesn't use the Nintendo Network logo, the DLC is meant to refer to the Link's Awakening DX download code
- Official Japanese site doesn't use the logo on the provided cover

I FINALLY got SteamWorld Dig last night. I wasn't waiting for a price drop exactly, just didn't have the time to play it. But with the sale, I said what the heck.

Might put in a couple hours here and there in between my 8-10 hour Poké-marathon sessions. :P

Actually, you're right. Just checked the EU boxart, and there's zero mention of the Nintendo Network.... but then again, the first version of the EU boxart for The Wind Waker HD didn't have the Nintendo Network logo. I wonder what's wrong at Nintendo!

Yeah, I don't think there's any online features in ALBW. In most cases, that logo means it's compatible with Miiverse... which is very unlikely for that particular game.

In pokémon X & Y you get PokéMiles, you must go to HoloCaster -> Announcements.

When you sync your savegame to Pokémon Global Link you can redeem those PokéMiles for items which you will get in the game the next time you Sync
