So that's where they're putting the Wi-Fi connection logo. I hadn't seen this before.

Is that so? I'm surprised I hadn't noticed it before. I guess it got lost in all the crazy reactions to the controller.mj1108 said:At Iwata's speech at TGS they showed that box art with the logo there.
Looks very cool. Simplistic in design.krypt0nian said:

Is there any sort of device which can be plugged into a standard router to enable wifi access? Anything which is cheaper than buying a new router with wifi functions built in?

Best tagline for an on-line service.
mutsu said:It doesn't look like it. If you have the Bufferlo's router that supports AOSS then you are in luck because in the conference they said that as long as your router supports the AOSS technology (and the one from NEC), then it will work.
I don't imagine the USB connector will be that expensive anyway, since Nintendo is emphasising that everyone can acess it. It would be like $50 max.
quadriplegicjon said:didnt they say it was going to be 30 bucks? or was that conjecture by gaffots?
I think they have manual settings for advanced users. Jim Merrick mentioned something about that in an interview.VOOK said:So Hang on if you Existing Wifi Router or USB Dongle Dont have this AOSS it wont work?
DavidDayton said:Ok. I'm thinking the answer to my question is "no" -- there is NO device which plugs into a router and acts as a wifi access point?
I'm asking as I don't plan to leave my computer on at all hours, so the USB device is a bit annoying. I know that I can buy a wifi router, but I was hoping there was some weird little gimmick that plugged into the router and allowed wifi access. I mean, I could plug a wifi router into my STANDARD router and kludge together wifi that way... so it seems like there should be a device that plugs into a CAT5 network cable and allows WIFI access.
