Nintendo DS Fence Sitters Check this out!

Yeah I saw that earlier. I still have no interest in Mario 64. Unfortunately the game is packaged in the box so I can't trade it in for Advance Wars.

Actually, it says items may arrive in different boxes at at different times. So you could trade it in for Advance Wars.

its not the games holding me back from purchasing the DS, its the hardware

So, you don't want to buy a system with some great games and tons of great games coming out because the graphics aren't pretty like PSP?

The games should be the only thing that matters man. If it was powered like the PSP, everything would be 3D. This is keeping 2D alive and kicking.

Well I sure hope you don't own an Xbox, since it's the design of the console that matters most to you. :P

I don't, however they design of a home console does matter to me a little as well.

But, to say things another way, I want one - It has good games but the design really stinks and for something I am going to carry with me this is a problem.

I won't be buying the nicely designed PSP either, not until a game that interests me comes out on it.

Maybe they are different package between the stores and online, then?

I saw the electric blue at walmart. It has Mario 64 bundled in the box in a plastic sleeve.

You're right that a redesign will happen eventually, but its $100 used and you'll be waiting another year for that SP. Sometimes it's worth waiting for new tech to save some cash or b/c the gizmo isn't up to par aesthetically, but this isn't one of those times IMO.

For the meager price of admission, you'll get your money's worth b4 the SP is available.

While you're waiting, I'll be having fun with that silver brick of a portable. :D

I thought this thread title said "Nintendo DS face sitters."

I wasn't sure if the DS or the people were sitting on face. I was so fucking confused.

But it would be like talking out a girl who i didn't really fancy. You know, everything else is good, but i am ashamed to be seen with her in public. :)

I thought the same thing.

That's not very healthy is it? That that's the first place I go.

Eh, there's nothing wrong with face sitting per se.

But I guess combining the thought with handheld gaming systems is a little strange. I wonder how well you can operate the touchscreen with yr tongue?

Then why are you on the fence?

that's what exactly makes me on the fence, cause if I wasn't interested in the games & the hardware then that would put me on one side of the fence

<-Fence sitter.

I'm really just waiting to see how Wi-Fi is implemented and having a peak at what the line-up is going to look like in '06 before I jump in.

The price is right, and the DS needs a few more must have games to really tip the balance for me.

I have as many games for my DS in 2 months than I have had for any other systems first few months, even year.

Meteos
JSS
Kirby
Band of Brothers
Ouendan
Mario 64
Trace Memory

That number could grow by the end of the year with games like

Mario bros
Lost in Blue
Phoenix Wright
Advance Wars
Mario Kart

Thats at least 12 games I'll own which is more than the PS2 games I have right now after buying that in its first year (of course some games get traded etc). 12 games is probably close to how many games I would buy in a systems lifetime nevermind first 6 months. Count in the handful of GBA games I bought specifically to play on the DS and its got to be said - a brilliant brilliant machine.

Still nothing I'm really interested in on the system. Too bad Jump Super Stars wouldn't come over ... I'd probably pick one up for it.

I just got mine last night w/ Meteos and Advance Wars. I'm regretting it slightly because I really have no need for two portable systems.
